Against Pantheon it's hard before level 6 (well, hard in general) and against Kat it's hard after level 6. It doesn't mean it's impossible. All I'm saying is that he's a pretty solid choice for solo mid nowadays because the higher level and better farmed he is during teamfights, the more AoE he does, and I'm sure you've seen a farmed Ryze drop an entire team to 1/4 health in two shots.

i also want to add that for everytime you cast a spell of ryze, the cd of thoer spells got reduced by 1 secs so if you R->Q->W->E, your Q should be finished its CD while the R is still in effect. this make me want to know if there is anyway to "cancel" the casting animation of ryze? since there is always a delay between 2 spells in my combo...

I think it's E > R > W > Q. Your R activates before your E reaches the target. You get to use E twice this way...which is where the monster damage comes from.
You're probably dead if you stick around to cast that many spells in a row though -_-
In any case, I've had the most success going Catalyst, Mejai, and then rod of ages, guardian angel with Ryze. (Grabbing golem and elixir of brilliance constantly. I rage when someone steals my golem)

I really want to know how much damage the new champ's suicide thing does. It'll be cool (broken?) if I can use it to suicide into dragon or something at level 2 and insta-kill it 
For Cho'gath, is there any real benefit in leveling rupture over silence? Silence hits more reliably and the cc scales with level. Rupture just has a lower cooldown which is nice, but again, 1 level of that seems sufficient for the knockup.

so i was in a game yesterday and people said you can kill yourself as olaf with his reckless swing. thats cool and all but they also said you get a kill and the gold from it. as in if you are on a killing spree you can end it and get the bonus gold. i havent tested it myself but that seems pretty wild.

this week's champion rotation schedule is going to hurt. Games full of Sorakas that can't support, Shacos that ditch team fights and pushes so they can jungle, and a Tryndamere on each team.

tried the viegar today for first time.... god, 2k5 magic damage late game can turn a super tanker on the enemy teams into a disability dog running back to base... win 2 out of 3 games i played and the lost is bc my teammates cant even read the mini map...
veigar acutally reminds me of nexus alot, the first skill we use to last hit creep to gain extra damage in the late game... but veigar is AP in stead o just damage.... @__@

But yeah I was pretty much doing something along those lines anyway. I got phage for slow and was gonna make it mallet, one vamp scepter to turn into a bloodthirster later, but the game didn't go very long. Mid game I grabbed a red pot and pretty much wiped their team after a blitz grab, caught a veigar with ult as he ran for the surrender.
Thanks again for the help though, Ezrael is super fun to play :D.
