Yay back at 1600. This time I didn't get it by playing poorly (but my opponents had some hilarious mess ups that gave us the wins when we should have lost).
Also I haven't played poppy in like the past 30 games. No matter how well I do I'm still only 50% with her.

I like Abyssal for the Mres, but yeah it's hard to argue with 40% mpen.
I actually get Randuins on Kennen for tankiness, mostly because rushing a HoG is broken and I'm a CDR loving heathen. Flash-Ult-Omen active is pretty devastating. Post-nerf GA doesn't feel good to me anymore, except on carries that don't buy HP items.

OK guys, with the demise of Gozey, I'm going to (try to?) run a TL inhouse. Unlike Gozey, I'm going to try to mix things up a bit to keep things fun, since TL has a pretty diverse skill range. Sign up by November 12th, tournament on November 14th, 17:00 GMT (+00:00) 19:00 GMT (+00:00) (note: this will be after daylight savings ends, so it'll be 2pm eastern time; TL's time tag may currently imply 3pm eastern) (second note: moved 2 hours later so west coasters can play). Here are the rules:
Signups are individual. I will cut off at multiples of five. If I get 27 signups, the last two people to sign up will be dropped used as alternates.
PM me to sign up.
Teams will be auto-generated based on ELO to keep things even.
Series will be three games.
Game 1: Teams will draft from the week's free champions (10 free champs means no bans). You are drafting for the OTHER TEAM. In other words, you want to pick the worst, weakest, most unbalanced composition possible. Standard 1-2-2-2-2-1 pick order.
Game 2: Teams will take turns banning from the free champions, 1-2-1-1, with the team that lost game 1 going second (and getting 3 bans). This will leave 5 free champions remaining. Both teams will consist of these champions (mirror match).
Game 3: ARAM!
I'd like to use more than the free champs, but not everyone has everything, and keeping lists of who you can legally ban/force the other team to use based on who has what is too much of a hassle.

I disagree with this on both Kennen and Fiddle for a number of reasons.
1) You're often in the middle of the enemy team. Reducing their MR can help your teammates.
2) The MR you get is real, and important. You don't want to get bursted down before you can get zhonya's off, and your ult makes you a huge target.
3) Your main goal on an ult is to kill the backline squishies if at all possible. They tend to have low enough MR that abyssal is better for its cost than void staff at outputting the deeps.
4) Abyssal lets you buy a negatron cloak early without screwing up your build order.
Yes, in the long term, void staff will let you do more damage. But when it comes to important damage (killin' carries) and survivability, I prefer abyssal.

Defense is for pussies. Just use Z-Ring better :p.
Randuin's is his best Armor Item and Abyssal's his best MRes item, but IMO you don't really need either with good z-ring timing. That might change if they stop letting his ult work while z-ringed, but as it is right now I can pretty much never justify spending that much on those items.

well, I'm just talking about Kennen, but anyway... he has sustained caster damage. Kennen's ability to dish out a beating lasts all fight long, so he does play cleanup when there are just tanks left and in those situations I want that 40% pen vs. 200 MRes Garen. I dunno what you mean by getting bursted down before you can z-ring properly tbh... flash, ult, z-ring is pretty much broken and I really have no problem doing so basically every teamfight.
