Abuse trists's range and the cd time on orb. When kass takes a shot at you, its gametime; you have 7-8 seconds worth of autoattack time that he can't deal with.Abuse him to the max. Take shots at him, reposition his creeps, land a fireball, use rocket jump during orb flight time if you can maximize the time and come out ahead on the trade. | ||

Take shots at him, reposition his creeps, land a fireball, use rocket jump during orb flight time if you can maximize the time and come out ahead on the trade. why is playing passively a bad* idea, creep aggro hurts, kass's autoattack hurts, pushing lanes hurts (creeps attacking YOU = lane getting pushed), and trist is not a early game killing machine, so why not draw the game out as long as you can? edit: also, you fail to take into account the 700 fucking range'd-ness of the orb, which is bloody massive, all kass has to do is poke you, and retreat behind his creeps, where, if you attack him, the creeps will eat you alive. If you jump him? creeps eat you alive AND he fucking autoattacks the bejesus out of you. Kass is a hard lane for a late-game carry without a single target, spammable semi-nuke that still keeps you at range. | ||

If you just let kassadin Q you for free, you're out of your lane at level 6, and if you play too passively, you miss out on farm. Like I said, sometimes you have to make exchanges with kassadin because he WILL get to Q you on certain last hits that you make (if you want them badly enough), so either you retaliate or you don't. | ||

Until Q is back up, you can liberally walk up and push kass off creeps if the amount of creeps in the lane that'll hit you is nominal, because what's the alternative? Its the difference between shooting kass 3 times and hitting him once then going back to last hitting. The damage differential is huge, and as kass levels up, the payoff for him tossing a Q increases rapidly, while the payoff for hitting kass increases at a much slower rate. While kass's Q is down kass cannot do damage to you. Kass can't autoattack you unless he will kill you by doing so (and that's HYPER unlikely very early on), otherwise he needs to burn flash or eat 3+ free autoattacks. This doesn't apply if your lane is somehow down by 2+ more creeps than his side (which is odd, given how kass cannot autoattack lanes, and how you're trist). The only real downside is that hitting trist will cause creeps to hit you, which means they aren't hitting your creeps, which pushes the lane. You won't be able to maintain lane neutrality unless it was tipped in your favor or you force him to Q lasthit. Obviously you aren't going to go balls to the wall and autoattack him while he has 59125 creeps around, but once Q is down, the onus is on you to get back to health parity or better. | ||
