lol so many people cried that he was to strong now I see on the message boards everyone say he didn't deserve that big of a nerf.. I expect them to go back and forth with some nerfs/buffs until they feel they get things just right.

on release he was too strong, and then people figured out how to beat him consistantly and we figured out that there were alot of bad matchups for him.

but tbh he can keep his infinite. isn't CapA's only mixup is his backflip dash? crappy (mvc2 ken/morrigan)/non-god chars (IM who can take out an entire team with guardbreaks. Josh360 IM <3) have had infinites in past vs. games and its alright.
then again i have the "at least its not XMvs.SF bad" mentality where every character in that game had an infinite so it's cool :p
if anything i still scratch my head at how badly ryu is compared to akuma. i mean they gave akuma his overhead standalone comboable but not ryu's? and that's just the tip of the iceberg

Honestly it seems like the patch was made a couple weeks ago, before the most recent tournaments and before the Cap infinite was found, and the patch is only hitting now. Even lamer, then, because they were gonna patch a fighter within a few weeks of its release.
hey guys, mvc3 newbie here. I'm wondering if anyone else has difficulty pulling off moves that aren't a fluid motion, such as down, right, down right. Is there a trick to pulling that kind of movement off consistently?

Of course. Patches take a long time (a couple/few weeks) to get certified and become available. If we have it now, it was done a while back. Capcom needs to pay Microsoft and Sony to do all sorts of testing to get it approved.

i think you mean motions like a dragon punch, forward -> down -> downforward
put the stick in neutral and imagine a big Z where the beginning of the Z is the stick's neutral position. then make a Z really fast!
Okay so, I'm a total fighting game scrub, and I've been having trouble with moves like Shuma's (the new DLC character) and Chun Li's.. Basically anything that has the <--> sign, or < charge >. Any suggestions?
charge moves are easy, you hold the direction it tells you to (Back or down) for a while (1-2 seconds in every game, figure it out), then hit forward (or up, as it may be) and an attack button. make sure you hit the button when you're actually at forward or up, not while you're moving the joystick. just takes some practice.

Anyone else find this game unplayable online due to latency?
The "light button" doesn't even work to start an air combo there is so much lag and half the time my high jump is so delayed that they are on the way down before the jump registers .... I can do all the combo's against my friends offline, training and arcade mode... My heavy punch won't even come out before i land if i hit it at the middle of my jump, which means i have to hit it the second i jump making it pretty useless... I have searched shoryuken.com for solutions but no one seems to have the same problem as me. I live in Hawaii, but my connection is supposed to be pretty fast...
Lol, believe it or not, if you're having problems with latency, more often times than not that is YOUR fault. You said yourself you live in hawaii, guess how long it takes for stuff to travel from hawaii to even the west coast, let alone if you match up against east coast players.

If you think Sentinel needed a nerf in anything but x factor level 3, you are probably a baddie at the game anyway. Large hitbox character with poor mixups. In any high level play or even above average ... I consistently see Sentinel figured out more or less. I am significantly more wary of a well played Phoenix, Amaterasu or Dante.
