Also you don't have to bust spirit fire when creeps are at full health, but I assume you know that you can time it.

Since we are building a Heart of Gold, would it be an idea to start out with a cloth armor and five health potions? Five potions should be able to keep you in lane nicely, at least in my limited experience with Malphite. Of course, Malphite has his passive to protect him from harass, and as stated, you can't really rely on Nasus's life steal to keep his health up. But five potions should go a long way to keeping you alive against most enemies I reckon. Edit: Also, is a melee dps Nasus viable at all, or will he simply snap like a twig when focused while ulting? Not to mention the fact that his damage output will probably be overshadowed by the likes of Jax and Master Yi.

Melee Nasus doesn't work because he will be focused down so easily. I still don't like HoGs. I have tried them, but I didnt like it. You are farming well enough with SF. Sunfires are decent on Nasus but like every champion I don't think you should just build one way with complete disregard for who you're facing. A banshees is obviously a better choice before sunfires against casters / disable team. Also if you are not planning to last hit with SS at all I would skip sheen and just go straight to Sunfire cape.

And I have a question regarding his ultimate, Fury of the sands: how exactly is the drained health converted to attack damage? And is the drained health also used to heal Nasus or not? Going by the tooltip, I'd expect not, because then I would assume it would have been explicitly stated in the tooltip, but I'm not sure, since Fots is widely regarded as one of the most powerful ultimates in the game.

I'd go Atmas / BT after Rageblade. Also Ghost is probably better than exhaust. Other than that its good. I've never seen a Jax not go tabi. The +dodge for his stun seems pretty important. Do you really run treads with him, even with cleanse?

But if they're all casters and you're jax you win anyway

honestly though, I think Tabi is usually the right choice so long as you can time your cleanse correctly.

Magic nukers are the counter to Jax. Jax is the counter to physical damage team compositions. If they are all casters you're fucked.

I've said it on Jax feedback threads, but I'll say it again... just cause Jax doesn't have built in magic dodge or something doesn't mean casters counter him. They are going to be more effective at not having their damage to Jax reduced, but he's still going to have fucktons of HP and require a ton of focus to kill.

however the magic burst itself does not matter much, as jax will win any 1v1 vs a caster and if you waste your nukes on jax his team will just roll you. but the disables will shut him down permanently in team fights if he doesnt run cleanse / merc treads. banshees etc

Might cost us a couple games early, but it should pay off eventually and it's not like we're gonna win with Panth in that setup.
