But yeah, Bobcats, Thunder, and the Grizzlies (despite losing to the Hornets) are doing really well this season so far. The East looks interesting!

Ellis is a guard. Nash, Kobe, Chris Paul, Deron Williams are way ahead of him. So is Brandon Roy, and there's probably a whole bunch of others at least as good. Subtract another spot due to McGrady. All-star worthy guard in the west is way above a really good player. Simmons wrote something on the Kobe-Lebron debate. Perfect for people who want to get Simmon's book signed. + Show Spoiler + Know this: The Kobe-LeBron argument is dead. It's over. LeBron James is the best basketball player alive. Command of the room. That's what Jordan had. Kobe doesn't have it, and he never had it.

Lebron's media status doesn't make him the best baller alive. Championship Rings, which Kobe has 4 of destroy a lot of arguments in Lebron's favor.

Neither come close to MJ though. I actually hope LeBron goes to the Clippers as it would make games vs the Lakers so epic.

The real question is: Is Phil Jackson the greatest coach of all time or the luckiest bastard of all time? I think good arguments can be said for both. However it's more a combination of both.

No player on earth has been or ever will be talented enough to carry a team. And Kobe didn't carry his team to the finals. They have a lot of talent spread across the board with another superstar in Gasol. Championship rings takes a very well balanced team effort, or at the very least a 2 man superstar show with some decent contributors. The lakers have both + Phil Jackson. (The Lakers lose a lot when Gasol isn't playing). Cleveland will still be Cleveland if Shaq isn't playing. ;p The real question is: Is Phil Jackson the greatest coach of all time or the luckiest bastard of all time? Of course you need a good team to win The NBA Finals but when we're comparing superstars of this magnitude Championships have to be mentioned. Most of this stems from the fact akin to asking who'd you want to take the last shot: Kobe or Lebron? The finals is basically "can this guy succeed at the most clutch moment?" So far Kobe has answered that what, 4 out of 5 times? Lebron is 0 for 1. I always find it ridiculous that anyone would believe Lebron is better than Kobe when he not only has a LONG way to go to even approach Kobe's skill set, but he also doesn't even have the Jordan or Kobe aura. He can have the showmanship, but he still doesn't give you the feeling that when the game is on the line, or his team is down 10 going into the 4th quarter that in reality they are going to win the game. The only player imo that even comes close to MJ/Kobe in that regard is Dwayne Wade. But thats a conversation for another day, because I honestly think D.Wade is just as good as Lebron but he doesn't get as much hype.
