The 17 years old Chinese Progamer Jinhui Jim Cao from invictus Gaming.

Jim had been placed in top 1 grandmaster on Korean Server many times.
You guys should give me mod in iG.Jim's Chatroom. I was the English caster for last year's NSL, and will be the English caster for this year's NSL and WCG... I'm competent in both Chinese and English.
I've said this before, but I have to say it again here.
The entire future of SC2 in China is riding on Jim's shoulders, I feel. He's 17 years old and instead of slamming the books for university studies like all of his other classmates, he is being paid big money (at least in China) to be a pro at SC2. This, in and of itself, means that perhaps more and more parents will be willing to view this as a somewhat legitimate form of income.
do u guys know what gear he uses? his mouse control seems to be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally good, also what settings does he play on?(mouse scroll speed/dpi/ingame sens etc.)

He will play against Oz in the WCS America Challenger in about 1 ~ hour. I hope he will advance, even though his PvP didn't look as promising as his PvT or PvZ on stream. He even said that its his weakest match up right now. But nonetheless, he should be good enough to beat him
He played first 2 series but then it's time for US embassy appointment time (which he notified ESL before), but since ESL delayed games for 2 hours, he could not make back in time.

Edison is still working actively with Blizzard and WCS NA to see if they can get him and Macsed their visas.
But... how did he win his first 2 matches? Were they online or something?
He played his first matches and then had to leave
Leave to where? Did he or not play the first 2 matches online?
Depends which matches you're referrning to. I think you're referring to the IEM Shanghai matches that he won. Those were in Shanghai. He had to leave after those first two matches to get to his USA visa appointment, and that's when he got disqualified from IEM Shanghai for not gettng back in time We also found out later that he was denied his US visa, which means he won't be able to compete in the WCS AM Round of 16 (unless he somehow manages to get it).
jim is my favorite player these days, it sucks that he has such trouble playing just because he was born in china :/ also i hope tournaments do care a bit more for special cases.. jim had to go to the embassy yesterday and was disqualified for that in IEM because he was not able to play his winners round match. If they just would gave him a loss he would still play today, 20hours later :/ would have been so awesome for him and his fans
My own personal view is that Jim's PvP was taken from another player by the name of XluoS. Agressive, "Let's end this game now." style. The only other player I remember watching with this playstyle from China was Xluos.
I am so happy for Jim! He has recently caught my attention as a player to watch. His style is completely different from the Korean and Western metagame, and that is really throwing players off. I can't wait to see what he does against Jaedong!

I think Parting helped him with these strategies. He said in the post game interview that Parting helped him a lot, and he focused on his PvP to advance today.
You successfully made it to the round of 8. It feels alright, because PvP is basically about the openings and luck. I was lucky today, and I'm not feeling anything special.
You managed to break through from a group with 3 Korean players. I felt before the games that qualifying would be very difficult, but when I won the first game I gained confidence and was able to make it out of the group eventually.
Unfortunately, you lost to Polt in the winner's match. I feel that it was normal to lose. Polt in tournaments is completely different from in practice. He is really very good.
In the loser's match, Crank almost seemed to deliberately lose to Alicia to let Alicia face up against you. It's the same no matter who it is if it's PvP. Perhaps Crank thought that he was playing poorly today, and wanted to let his team mate vie with me for the qualifying spot.
You'll match up against Jaedong again in the round of 8. Are you confident of winning against him again? This should be a tough battle, because we'll be preparing specifically for each other. But I still feel I'll win, probably with a 3:2 score.
Out of the 3 non-Koreans in the top 8, 2 of them are Chinese players, and you're one of them. The three non-Korean players are all really great, and you cannot afford to overlook either MacSed or Scarlett.
What's your goal for this WCS? To get into top 5, and to make it to the this season's WCS Global Finals.
Can you tell everyone briefly how Edison managed to find you at the airport the other day? (T/N: Not sure what happened, but it sure sounds interesting hahaha) I was really panicky then. I couldn't make calls on my mobile phone, and I couldn't understand English, and after I found someone to lend me their phone so I could give Edison a call, I still couldn't get through to him. After that, I thought of using Wifi, but I realise I couldn't access QQ (T/N: I think this is the Chinese equivalent of twitter). In the end, I could only post on the forums, and after that Edison came to pick me up.
MacSed wished you good luck in his interview yesterday, and you won. Do you have anything to say to him today? Hehe, you expert you.
Do you have anything to say to your supporters? I want to thank the people who support me. Thank you all!
Apparently Jim's win rate on the Korean ladder is vP 60%, vZ 62%, vT 45%, so Terran is his weakest matchup, but he said he wants to be in a group with Innovation, Jaedong, and Naniwa because he feels he can learn from strong opponents. Love his fighting spirit!
You managed to meet your own target, and make it to the Global Finals. How do you feel? Very happy. To be able to beat Korean players and qualify for the Global Finals is something that is really not bad.
When you were eliminated at the round of 8, were you still confident of meeting your target? When I lost in the round of 8, I was rather dispirited, but I re-adjusted my mental state really quickly, and told myself that I definitely can do it, and I slowly gained confidence after that.
Unfortunately, you went away with a loss against Jaedong. Why do you think you lost? I feel that it was definitely the third game. I was definitely at an advantage in that game. When his roaches were on their way, if my warp prism was with my army, my immortal will definitely not have died, and I would have taken control of the game. When I lost that game, my confidence also took a blow, and I became overly-cautious in my play after that.
Recently, everyone's talking about you losing to the "friend of Protoss" Jaedong. Do you think you lost in terms of strategy, or is it because Jaedong's PvZ improved? I feel that if Jaedong doesn't use Swarmhosts, his level when playing against Protoss is quite normal.
You defeated your team mate MacSed in the first round of the fifth-place decider matces. What do you wish to say to him? Teacher Sed, I was lucky this time and won, but I will try my best to play well in the Global Finals, and not let your loss to me go to waste!
What did you think of your chances of winning before the match against Alive? Initially, I thought that Terrans were all very difficult to play against, and I had thought of pulling out several cheeses in multiple games. At that time I felt I only had a 40% chance of winning.
Did you think that the match would end in a 3:1? When did you think you had the win in the bag? When I won the second game, I felt that I was going to go 3:0, but I panicked a little and my opponent made a comeback.
What's your goal in the WCS Global Finals? I hope to meet strong opponents, and learn more and gain more experience!
Which 3 players do you want to be in the same group as? It would be best if I was with Innovation. I want to have a head to head match with him in an actual tournament game, and Jaedong and Naniwa I guess.. These are all players I really wish to face.
How's the preparation for the German Visa? Will there be difficulties like the US Visa? Yes. The timing is very tight, but I will try all I can to prepare. It probably won't be any easier than the US Visa.
You've consecutively beaten Terrans like Marineking, Alive, etc. How would you evaluate your PvT? I can just reveal my ladder win rates. Vs Protoss 60%, vs. Zerg 62%, vs Terran 45%.........
So that's also to say your PvT is actually your weakest? If I didn't think so, I would be stronger against against the other 2 races. Because there's been several occurrences when I thought I was good at a match up and took my opponent lightly and lost the match. But my PvT is really too weak in ladder, and as a result, I desire victory even more, and I'd research the Terran opponent, and because of that I'd play pretty well.
Any last things you wish to add? Thank you to the people who support me, and also to the team for developing me. I'm really grateful.
Congrats to Jim for qualifying for IEM Shenzhen and MSI 2014! He's also most likely gonna qualify for WEC 2014. So excited to see him on the international stage again! And hopefully he'll not be in a group of death this season of WCS AM XD
Jim had been somewhat on a slump recently, dropping out of Ro16 at WCS AM and early at WEC, but he seems to be in better shape now. He just won the Chinese version of WCS GPL Season 1, advanced to the semi of G-League 2014, and beat Losira, Revival, Guilty, and SuperNova in the Leifeng Cup #8!

unfortunately douyu inflate their numbers by 4~5x it's been proven so it's more like they're hovering at about ~700 views. The most popular channel for sc2 on douyu is scboy, which consists of chinese casters XiaoSe and F91 (former Broodwar and Sc2 pro). Typically they get about 10k viewers (adjusted for inflation). I remember during the peak of Kung Fu Cup they got over 35,000 viewers.
