If Scarlett tried to compete in the women's olympics it would not be allowed. Even if this is true - which we do not know and which we should not discuss here - that doesn't mean that she is a man. I do not want to blow my own trumpet, but please read this post. + Show Spoiler + First of all: a transgender, in the very broad sense of the word, is someone who has a specific sex (a certain biological status; 'female' or 'male'), but has a different gender, i.e. he or she feels like she is the other gender than the sex she/he has. Being a transgender sucks. There is nothing else to say about it. For those who you who do not understand, let me put it this way. Imagine you are stuck in a girls body, while being a guy. You do not want to hang out with the guys. You are literally a guy - you just like the physical body parts. Imagine that all the time all the guys can stand up and pee, and you have to sit down. But note that you don't start out like this. Oh, no; society has always recognized you as a girl. They expect you to act like a girl, where female clothing, maybe even start dating a guy. And all the while: you are a guy. Can you imagine how that's like? I have not experienced it myself, but I am pretty sure it sucks. If you have a hard time picturing this, try this. You are a very talend starcraft 2 player. You can probably be one of the best foreigners. You have all the skills you need. However; you have to be dishwasher. Everyone expects you to be a dishwasher. If you even start talking to people that you might want to be a starcraft player they will probably look very weird at you. They will consider you to have a 'mental disease'. (Transgender is still, if I am not mistaken, classified as a mental disease.) And you are not really sure. You know it's abnormal that you want to be a starcraft 2 player. Etc. Does this sound awful to you? Now imagine that in order to really become a sc2 player, you have to go through a long surgery, all kinds of psychiatrists, etc. So really, being a transgender sucks big time. So for all the *I am really censoring myself here* who think they are tough or whatever and want to keep calling Scarlett a 'he' because she might (or might not) have the physical body of a guy, is like saying to the dishwasher: 'Fuck you, you will never be a sc2 player, and I will always consider you to be just a dishwasher, and you will never be anything else'. I hope this clarifies why it's a fucking douchebag move to keep calling her a he.

BUT its wrong saying this is the best female gamer when he is clearly a guy. I have transgender friends but they are not competing in girl tournaments as its not allowed.

I hope this clarifies why it's a fucking douchebag move to keep calling her a he. It was in the OP before, with a direct quote from Scarlett confirming it. And I said that Scarlett is genetically and physically a man, which is completely accurate regardless of what your opinion is on transgenderism.

If Scarlett tried to compete in the women's olympics it would not be allowed. Genetics are not so clear in this area with all the XXY, and even XY mixups. And physically she is not really a man, that is the point of the hormonal therapy and SRS. And that is where you are wrong as it is not completely accurate. Turns out reality is not binary even in sex area.

I am not sure I understand your post but my point was that claiming Scarletts achievements on behalf of women is problematic because Scarlett still has any physical or mental advantages that male DNA gives. This is why people who have male DNA and male physiology are not allowed to compete in womens olympics. If men have a natural advantage in Starcraft--not that they necesarily do, but it can't be ruled out based on results--Scarlett has the same natural advantage.

However, this ground is pretty well-trod at this point, and I really think people who want to argue or discuss the whole gender/gender-identity thing should post in a blog or something and not the fan club. It's been canvassed, all the info is there, if you can't be bothered to read it then please don't bother to post. It's a fan club, not a debate club, there are plenty of other places to argue it out where you will get genuine responses and real argument, rather than here where you will just get piled on. <3
