This thread is not a discussion thread about whether X or Y deserves a fan club. Please leave that up to our moderators. If you want to change how we handle fan clubs then please make a thread in Website Feedback. Thanks! |

This is also true for Dennis who is currently presenting IEM. Where is his 60+ page fanclub? Oh right there isn't any. But keep telling yourself her being a female / her looks have nothing to do with it. That will make it true.
Also you aknowledge that she didn't even know the basics of sc2 on her first day as an interviewer. Which makes me wonder why she was the interviewer in the first place. If only I could think of a reason...
Mind you I am not against a fanclub for her, or any women, per sé. (for example Kelly and also MegumiBear are well earned IMO). If she works hard and actually adds something to the community, then great! But this is really premature. In fact, IMO, this is why there are so few women in e-sports, which I think is a shame. But in order to change that you will have to start by treating women like everyone else, that includes not establishing fanclubs for someone just because thet are a girl and pretty.

How on earth did you manage to ignore the large white header saying that this is a FANclub, not where you discuss whether somebody deserves a fanclub in the first place.
So please, could you stay the fuck out of somebody's FANclub unless you are, y'know, a FAN?

I love how Lindsay says "Not exactly excellent" in the MLG interview at 1:30 :D

Dennis has a fanclub.

You give the impression of someone who is awkward around women and doesn't know how to react to a popular girl. I do not think this fanclub is the right place for you to post.

The only reason she has a fanclub is because she is a girl and above average pretty. Everything that is wrong with the world my arse. Yes, she's pretty. No, she's never accomplished anything in SC2/BW. I doubt you have either so why on earth you feel you are in a position to tell other people who they should be liking is ridiculous. The only reason she has a fanclub is because she is a girl and above average pretty. That's something an ugly virgin would say. This just in: good-looking people are highly prized in an industry where people point cameras at your face. Full story at 11. I am not negating that fact in my post (at least when it comes to women), I am instead contesting it.

I actualy have similar contempt for religion. One reason of which is they also thread women differently / thread them as inferior by holding them to lower standards, so that will not work. Moreover a solution is offered by me. You should read my posts again. I am glad to see though that you aknowledge that there is a problem to being with. Which is progress as far as I'm concerned.
Also I do not see what nationality has to do with anything.

what happened to the whole kings of tin thing? She wasn't on yet, was she?

<tl;dr>There's a Lindsey Wiki now. Also, all the criticism is off the point. Whoever she is, it's the recognition as a model and positive SC2 attitude that makes her special. Other things are unimportant.</tl;dr>
I've created a Wikipedia page for Lindsey, it's now approved by Wikimedia. I collected some info, and it's all there now, so if you're interested just take a read. And someone should update Liquipedia with that too, methinks.
Also - sure, she's a starlet and some guys out there simply like how she looks. But this is it - she is pretty and with that and some positive attitude towards Starcraft2 and games in general she can so wonders for the community. Sure, she's pretty. Sure, the interviews were ****, or in otther words - not intellectually challenging and showing a certain amount of the interviewer's ignorance (so in fact ****). What is awesome about all this that there's a quasi-celebrity that will gain recognition by doing interviews solely about SC2 or games.
Read with caution: A worldwide famous Starcraft2 based celebrity. A person that will be known in both the gaming world and outside. And the outside will know, that a semi-famous person watches games and plays them. That means more people buying games, more people considering watching SC2 matches in TV as a normal thing to do on a Tuesday afternoon. More people will watch as the teams and the players go to battle. Essentially, the community of both fans and players can grow. Players will no longer be famous among players, but can in fact be simply famous. That's the direction Lindsey can take us is (if she is willing to, we'll know soon). If that is not good for the community, I frankly do not know what is.
I don't care what church she's in, I don't care while people really like her, be it her intellect, the way she streams or plays or the way she looks. Don't care as long as she makes SC2 more popular. That is what she is for, and if she's smart, she knows she can take the train to fame with Starcraft Players. Sure, it's not Julia Roberts admitting she loves SC2, it's just Lindsey, but I will support Lindsey cause if she becomes famous one day, SC2 will take a ride with her as well.

Still no stream this weekend. So it was all in fact too much of wishful thinking.

I like to fantasize about her being at MLG Raleigh and doing interviews.

hot people always catch the worm
thats part of evolutionary selection.
You are pretty? The door is open. You are not pretty? Proof yourself. You are ugly? It will be a hard time no matter what you do.
Any hope for ugly people? With blind people, the one eyed will be king.
If you do not understand me, you better be hot

where's her virgin streams?

mhmmpf, could you sign me out killerpenguin? I'm kinda disappointed about the lack of tweets/videos/informations about her stream and her future work in the sc2 community :<

Well signing out is a bit harsh, pretty sure we'll see a lot of her at Nasl soon and once she starts to stream. But I do agree that the lack of any SC2 related Lindsey content for ages now is a bit dissapointing.

Let's hope she'll get around...

I just watched Anna Prosser's interviewing Evil Geniuses team. She was laughing, asking elborate questions that actually made sense and you know what else? I didn't like it as much as the not-so-smart Lindsey interviews.
Lindsey is just a likeable person, I thought, but then I actualy had to ask myself: why is she?
Compared to Anna she seemed ignorant and unintelligent. But then again, Anna had InContoL to prepare her for the interview. It's not the first time she sees SC2, she's actually with the scene quite a long time now. So knowing that I took a closer look at her interviews and you know what - tey were fantasstic. Sure, she was nervous as hell and did the 'Excellent!' spam. But the really important thing is she actually pulled out off every situation she did not understand. She cleverly avoided counterquestions, she changed the subject to more general everytime she got to deep nto gaming. she researched question in the meantime, she improvised brilliantly.
