You can't break the limitations of zerg, stephano, just play it safe and win from advantageous positions.
You may be right; if you're right, it's ironic that he doesn't want to simply turtle, into blord-infestor, since he was the first high profile pro player to really show the world just how powerful the blord infestor turtle is. He was doing it way before Leenock, Life, Hyun and [insert other top Korean zerg here] started doing it.
Stephano's early game defense against Hero was simply immaculate in game 1 and 2, which isn't surprising since his multitasking and map awareness are still in tact. His engagements, transitions, and micro are all a little off (and not that good for him) and being a little off can make you lose really badly at this level.

It's pure speculation on my part, of course ^^ I agree completely that he was the one who taught zergs how to play ZvP. I just can't find any other reason for him to not simply play out the boring (but safe and viable) BL and infestors, like he has shown plenty of times that he can. It seems like he's making a point to me. Let's hope for a good run in the lower-bracket now, maybe even roach-hydra!

Stephano vs Heart starting right now at Stream 3.

yes... stephano seems to be strong again

Looks like Stephano 2-0 heart! Good news, but he's got a ZvZ next... vs HyuN... and then it looks like it will be more ZvZ's after that. not sure if he can do it.
|
I don't know about that. He was supply blocked in both games. I understand that Heart put pressure on with a viking and killed 3 ovies, but he was supply blocked much earlier. If i am not mistaken, he was floating 1k minerals around 90-100 supply because he couldn't produce. Regardless, his decision making and control got him through the games. He needs to play more often to correct these simple mistakes of supply block, continue his micro control, and especially against timings like sentry/immortal.

Next opponent is Hyun. I hope he can make it through him, but I don't have high expectations
|
I think his tournament ends here....:p

IPL_Hyun is too good. We can only hope, but I think it's over.

This tournament is stacked with good players. The fact that you meet players like DRG, Squirtle, Taeja, Hyun etc in the loosers bracket this early is impressive.

Well, we'll see at best 3 games of Stephano today if i'm correct. First one versus Hyun. Second one versus the loser of Alive-vs-Symbol or TheStc-vs-Crank (worst opponent here is Symbol but I don't think he'll lose to Alive) Third one versus the winner of Scarlettvs(winner of DRG-vs-Vortix).
It will be a very difficult three match day for Stephano but I think the hardest will be the one versus Hyun. A zerg, maybe the best player right now, and also the fact that Hyun is not facing a Terran and doesn't have to hide strategies for the GSL ro4 like Sniper, Bogus and Ryung probably did (all 3 have lost versus the race they have to play against in the ro4).
But Stephano is better versus really tough competition than versus supposedly worse players so let's have faith

With Life looking a little vulnerable lately (dropping four straight to Soulkey, losing to Gumiho, etc.), Hyun may likely be the strongest zerg. Hyun IMO also may have the best zvz ATM. An upset here would be pretty epic. Go Stephano!
