By Stephano's own admission he's barely training at all (as confirmed by his match history), so he's not training regularly (although he clearly is still training efficiently given his success). I check his match history frequently and he did the same thing prior to IPL4. His lack of practice and very good results are more a testament to his overwhelming talent than evidence of his stumbling upon a magical recipe for success in SCII. He seemed to be at his best when he came back from Korea (other than when he was hungover at HSCIV), where he was, he claims, practicing 8 hours a day for lack of other activities. If fans are (very mildly) complaining about his work ethic, it's only because it seems like Stephano is capable of achieving more, such as becoming the generally acknowledged best SCII player in the world. It's clear that he doesn't care to rise to such heights, but I don't think that a little gentle whining about a lax practice schedule is anything to fret over, and it's not about doubting him; it's just that you can't realistically expect him to clean house against the likes of MMA, DRG, etc. when he's not in the best possible playing shape.

why would you say that he was best after he came back from korea, this is just strange given that he lost all the time directly afterwards. you even mentioned hs4 yourself. I don't get it.

lol looks like he just want to chill at new york city more than playing the tournament

He had the highest Elo of all players at international events after Korea and won 30 in a row against P, among other things. What do you mean he lost "all of the time"? That's demonstrably false. His stretch following his stint in Korea was better than his previous results based on Elo and simply subjectively IMO he looked better. When I watch his play against MKP and MMA in the IPL3 qualifier his play doesn't look nearly as refined and I think he benefitted from being not that well known (now he's the most studied foreigner around) but that's just subjective. Objectively though his win rates increased and his Elo went up (and still is extremely high). He also said that he got a lot better from being in Korea and that he could only hope to advance so far on the EU ladder, although his comment doesn't go to the amount of time spent practicing, he attributes a boost in performance to his Korean training. I'm suggesting it's not a coincidence that that period also coincided with his practicing way more than normal for him. What are you not getting?

Hmm, so I think this is a matter of what you consider "after getting back from korea". Directly afterwards was only homestory cup as a big tournament which he played not very good in in(due to alcohol or not). After that there were several weeks without a big tournament if i remember correctly. His elo was highest after winning lone star clash, which was pretty far away from his trop to korea...

Speaking of Homestory Cup ^^, details have just been released about the HSC V. This will take place on July 5th onwards. Stephano has won a place there by winning TakeTv Reloaded tournament, however he is definitely not going to attend it. This must mean he will be in Korea at that time.

And not just any korean a korean with a 73% win ratio in TvZ but his games was kind of sloppy so we will see what he can do vs MC gonna be great to see:D

Stephano is such a beast. Not playing his best but still able to beat someone who a couple months ago was a top tier Korean terran. I thought Ryung played really well. Stephano's micro, multitasking and large battle micro are just over the top good.
