Johan belongs to the world's elite - in Starcraft II Swedish "Naniwa" lives and plays in South Korea One of the world's best "Starcraft II-players comes from Sweden. Johan "Naniwa" Lucchesi continues to add up impressive results in South Korean GSL - the most difficult league in the world. And on the 28th of July you can see him compete at the Nordic Nationals - the Nordic qualifier for the "Starcraft II" championships - in Stockholm. Almost a year ago, Swedish Johan "Naniwa" Lucchesi moved to South Korea. The plan was clear: to train to become the best at "Starcraft II". During the past year, Naniwa has mixed success, setbacks and controverse - but never lost his drive to constantly become better. Focus for Naniwa has since almost a year back been completely on the Korean top division. "Code S" level in Global "Starcraft II" League. Last week, he played quarter finals vs. Park "DongRaeGu" Soo Ho, who doubtlessly must be considered one of the absolute best "Starcraft II" players in the world right now. The Swede opened with a shock and won the first game, in a best of five series, through fantastically well prepared and executed strategy. Practices for Nordic Nationals DongRaeGu then turned the series back to his advantage, but lost the fourth game. After an exciting fifth and deciding game, it was clear that Naniwa once again failed to reach the semi finals. This is the second time in a row that he falls in the quarterfinals, and Swedish Jonathan "Jinro" Walsh continues to be the only non-Korean who has played semifinals in GSL Code S. At the moment, Naniwa practices for the Nordic qualifiers for Blizzard's own World Championship of "Starcraft II". In the large Swedish qualifier, which is sponsored by and will be broadcasted live on Aftonbladet, he is counted as one of the great favourites. Tom "Endars" Bramler has occupied himself as e-sports commentator since 2005, in those days mostly for "Warcraft III". Today he is mostly known for his "Starcraft II" commentating in E-sport-SM (translator note: Swedish Nationals) and AWGL. Tom thinks there is no doubt that Naniwa belongs among the very best in the world. "One of the ten best" - If you look at the scene in its entirety, I think it's between the Frenchman Stephano and Naniwa on who is actually the best "non Korean" today, says Tom. I would rank Naniwa among the ten best players in the world. In an interview with Spela (translator note: Aftonbladet's newspaper gaming division) last year, Naniwa explained, in his characteristical austere way, the mindset which has now taken him to the top of the "Starcraft II" world. - If it goes good or bad has nothing to do with how long I stay in Korea - I am primarily here to practice. As long as I feel that I'm getting better, I will try to stay. Nothing indicates that he is on his way home. Michael Gill

By this time last year I had just got into watching competitive Sc2 (I became a Faniwa sometime during the fall), so I was wondering, did he live in the GOM house or somewhere else when he got there? (I know he lived with MVP during the short time he was on coL and moved to StarTale when he joined Quantic)

But he only stayed there for a week or so, if I remember correctly, and then moved into the GOM house and lived there until he joined coL and moved to the MVP house. Edit: This made me remember something Morrow posted during that time ^_^;; ![]()

Thank you for sorting things out, that reminded of an interview Aftonbladet did with Bomber and July (I think it was around Gamex last year) where Bomber said that Johan lived in the Startale house for a while before joining Quantic Edit: Thank you Johan for streaming!
