I'll just take your word for it then :-)
Yeah, sorry. I can't really be bothered rooting around for names from both the graph thread and the mlg thread, but I recognised some posters and there was some severe hypocrisy going on
In other news: MC vs DRG. given the new warp prism/sentry strategy going on I'll cautiously put MC as the favourite. I've not seen much ZvP from DRG, though. His ZvT was always his greatest strength. The only ZvP I can remember was vs JYP in Code A, and that was a reaaaally funky set.
Assuming MC wins that: A PvP. MC used to be unstoppable in PvP, but recently HuK has looked dominant. I expect Huk to beat Naniwa, but MC vs Huk could go either way. My heart says MC, my brain has no idea.

Last zvp of drg I have seen was against kiwikaki, the games were really close, so MC should have a good chance winning it.

DRG played better than yesterday, MC didn't play as well :/
hope MC will come back from the LB

I'm a huge MC fan, but that 2nd game was just stupid. God damnit MC, why dont you just fucking expand and build cannons? You had 1000 minerals floating for the last 5 minutes, because of only building blink stalkers!
1000 minerals and gas starved, make a NEXUS and 5 cannons, and let the army that you've forced come to you.

I'll quote myself for you:

MC chose Dual Sight intending to go nexus first into a sentry drop to block the ramp. He saw DRG get a fast 3rd and then get tunneling claws and speed for Roaches (counter to sentry drop). When MC got the Warp Prism he realised he could not do the sentry drop so went for a 7gate +2 Blink Stalker + Immortal all-in, but it was so late that the insane economy of a Zerg left alone for 5 minutes kicked in and MC lost, regardless of insane micro.
He didn't want to snipe DRG's 3rd then: DRG had very little mining there anyway, and MC had no intention of evening up bases and expanding himself. He needed to kill DRG then and there to win, because Protoss can't take a 3rd expo on Dual Sight.
EDIT: I would say there were 2 reasons MC lost
1) He chose Dual Sight when there are other maps with small chokes
2) He made no Stargates to pressure overlords into moving/force Queens/force Spore Crawlers/force Hydras and allow MC to do the drop freely (getting Roaches with tunneling claws and speed as well as having the above is impossible by the time the sentry drop happens).
It turns out Dual Sight would have been played anyway, because if DRG lost that 2nd game he would have chosen Dual Sight. Thus, MC wanted to play a bit of mindgames and pick Dual Sight first and go for the Sentry drop which proved so effective vs Idra.
Oh, and GO MC! BOSSTOSS FIGHTING!

hope he wins this MLG, but everything I cheer for loses.... T_T anyway, I'm going to work, good luck MC.

If you have over 1000 minerals, and cant use them, because zealots are worthless vs Roach/Inf, you might as well burn those minerals on a nexus and a bunch of cannons, it's not like you can use them on anything else. The point is, as a champion, you cant just have that "idra mentality" saying "it cant be done". You have to try everything and just refuse to die! It's that simple. The thing that impressed me about Naniwa in his 2nd Bo3 vs Nestea, was his 2nd game, where he held far longer, than anyone had expected. It was beautiful to see, that Nestea was bitter after that game, although he won. He was probably thinking "shit, even when I got lucky with the early zerglings, and everything was going for me, it was hard as fuck killing this bastard, making my win bitter."
Thats what I'm expecting form someone like MC. Activate Leonidas/Spartan 300 mode, and give the other player hell. Make him hate you for trying so hard. Dont give him easy wins.

I think it was less MC giving up than it was MC deciding wasting APM on setting up a 3rd base wasn't as useful as microing his heart out. I mean, did you see those fucking beastly Fungal Growth dodges? They were absolutely amazing, and the only reason MC looked like he stood a chance there.
Anyway: MC 2-1 MVP so far. Looking for him to extend that to 4-1 soon!

MC should have expo'd, but he still would have been behind. He was out-teched and out eco'd. He figured if his attack didn't win it for him he was done.
First game was more interesting. If MC didn't get caught by the lings when taking his third I am pretty sure he could have taken in.
Here's hoping he can take Mvp out of the tournament! Naniwa vs MC finals would be amazing.
Also, is there any code S/A spots up for grabs this time?

MC hates that third base. I seriously wish he would stop relying on two base pushes.
|
Yeah, if he had played a macro game on that first set in shakuras he would be had more of a chance. His state of mind was surely affected by that game on Dual Sight so he went for a safe build on the last game while MVP went for a greedy build and that put him behind. Although hes out, his play has improved significantly and it seems he is using warp prisms more and getting faster upgrades.
