If anything, we should be super happy that MC was able to beat IdrA and theStC! that alone has proved that he has upped his play and micro :D MC pretty much stomped Idra any time they met, he did it again, that doesn't prove anything... and i read he had an insane winrate vs theStC in practice. i think MC's slump is all down to weird decisions, nothing else. his micro-macro-multitasking etc is still unmatched in my opinion. but he does weird builds all the time which seem ingenious if he succeeds and just stupid if he fails. i don't see him doing many 1-2 base all ins in which he's exceptionally good at (even though haters say he can only do those. but in truth he hardly does any), and every time he goes DTs he fails as i remember.
The reason why Mc tried to change his play and use some wired strategies is obvious. His standard play got hardcoutered and toss is having a hard time as everyone knows. Did you see Mc try to standard play against Puma in IEM? It makes sense he is trying sth new after that 0-3 final. And this is just one example. Korean master tosses are having hard time and Mc must know a lot of his standplay builds do not work very well.
I like Mc's sharpness. For example, in the first game he played MVP in WCG, where after he holded that attack he immediately coutered and won the game. I mean a lot of toss players (for exampla, Mana) would choose to play more safe which is after that hold, they expand and get tech like weapon and armor upgrades and at the same time stop terran get a third. Then maybe after terran has many vikings, you swtich to templar tech. But Mc always does more aggressive play, he chose to attack which was good. But if somehow terran hold that and kill a big part of your army, they come back in the game which was what happened in the second game he played against MVP. Image if Mc just macro his eco up and get more tech, he would be fine. In fact I am 100% sure Mc is one of the best if not the best marco toss player at the moment, when he sees a chance he just goes for it and kills his opponent there and that is why a lot of Mc' games are not that long. And when he succeeds, he looks like a boss. But when he failed, he looks like a suicide toss.
I love the idea of when you see a weakness, you go and end the game there. But, tbh, if Mc can improve his decision making and sometimes, just sometimes play a macro game when he was clearly ahead, it would be better for him simply because Macro game is his strength. For example, in nasl he played against Sen, when in the beginning he though it would be easy win, but then he found out that sen was really good, he then chose to play macro game and he won two marco games to get to the final. In the final it is the same, at the beginning of the final, it seemed Puma was outplaying Mc, but at the time Mc decided to play macro game, he started to outplay Puma. (In that nasl final game one, I really believed Mc should win, he was ahead and he decided to attack with his significantly bigger army and puma holded with a few buckers, stim bios and emps. And then later Puma attack and Mc can not hold. Image if he did not try to do that timing attack, he should be way ahead at the time Puma tried to push since puma could not secure his own third under pressure)..

BTW why does Mc always need to play such important games few days before a toss favored patch come in effect? !!!

Nice try by ryung, if MC didn't play safe at any time, he could push and try to kill MC.

Ryung was lucky man. If Mc decided to go phoenix, that would go even more one sided.

yeah i agree with everything. he's kinda like july in my eyes, just that matchups for toss can be so messed up that his results are suffering.

if you delay the killing blow on the terran, there is a nice chance that they can comeback, and you can always get a bad engagement against terran and lose the game even being in a huge advantage.
