Poor engagements, amoving, bad infestor control all of those have been problems for a while. His macro and mechanics were just good enough to make up for it.

It's definitely more map dependent then before, but muta play is still very strong and Idra was very good with his mutalisks. I hope he realizes they are still good and uses both styles instead of just infestors again.

Nah, Idra's always cut it close with multitasking, so when he miscontrols the viewer sees an "idiotic" mistake. He doesn't ever seem to have liked spellcasters, and infestors are very fragile and slow, so that probably is a tough adjustment. Also, he lost a great deal of time during that mental slump, and he's playing catch up now. He'll get it, he just needs a bit of time to integrate the game's new level of complexity into his mental model.

The current meta-game has Terran playing some styles where muta can be effective, but it's so easy for them to transition and counter it's just silly. You won't catch them off-guard with mutas if they are at all competent

I think muta style suits idra better and if anything, the switch to mass medivacs is almost nullifying the infestor style.

This was the same in BW, people went mutas, it forced turrets so essentially you are doing some sort of economic damage. Also would like you to tell all the korean zergs who use mutalisks that they are dead (and they win with them to, DRG beat mkp with them as well). Both styles are good and both depend on maps, maps like antiga are definitely a bad muta map, but a map like taldarim/daybreak/etc are not bad muta maps at all.

I'm trying to find that vid of 5 best engagements or something like that, really early in sc2, in which he got twice, I think, both with ling bling muta. That was fucking awesome Edit: Whole, please tell me you hired this guy to make the plushie for Greg http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=342117

I really don't know, but I have to say, nothing was more epic than when an actual swarm of mutas, blings and lings rushed for the enemy tank like and obliterated everything. That was an actual zerg swarm, when I saw that I really thought that it was a zerg masterpiece, the true zerg now a slow-moving, immobile force, a deathball if you wish. Idra's engineered some of the most awesome zerg moments. I was basically sexually aroused by his nydus play against puma at IEM China. I know I suck at the game, but I wonder if zergs could use nydus + 3base spine turtling to defeat protoss 2-base all-ins? Could stall out push at zerg third by baiting FFs long enough to send some roaches to hit protoss expand, then nydus them back to hold zerg expand? I love it when zergs place the nydus far enough away that it doesn't get insta-killed while spawning. PS my dream is to get idra to call me an idiot!!!
