You really shouldn't make assumptions about it unless you have tried it yourself. Not making assumptions about shit. It takes them less than 2 days to sub 1 hour of WGM content so it's obviously possible. I believe running man is subbed quite fast too.

I believe running man is subbed quite fast too. You can't set a standard on one group and compare it to others when it comes to subbing. It's damn difficult to sub, I've done it before. People have already made a lot of good points in regards to the subbing process and how little they get back from it. Unless you have something really stable as well as popular, you won't be getting much.

If someone claims to know both languages fluently they should be able to articulate those nuances into either language fast. You don't need a direct translation at all, you need to understand the concept and convey it in the other language. The problem is people just say they are fluent in both korean and english while sucking ass in one or the other, because understanding a language isn't just being a dictionary, it's understanding the culture and sayings. But I don't really care, obviously anyone with real fluency is making real money for their skills, not what kshow pays. edit - im bitter today fuck I'm saying it's easy for native speakers, but most of these subs are done by people who aren't. even when I'm watching a professionally subbed version of a film from my native country, there are so many tiny mistranslations and errors. also timing is a huge bitch to do. I also kind of like the aoa girl with junk.

Show me an English sentence - I KNOW what it means. There are 0 translations going on in my head. I just KNOW the meaning of that sentence. And then see me conversing in German. When I suddenly remember an English word of what I want to say, but the German one (my native tongue) escapes me. Even while the whole conversation is in German. Being fluent just means that you can hold a conversation in a language. Now look at translations. I know what a sentence MEANS. But being able to convey said concept in another language is something completely different. You need to consider I just saw the words in language X. So words from language X are more prone to appear in my mind compared to words from language Y, when thinking about concept A. That said - transcribing (no translation, 100% accuracy) a video takes me about x4 the duration of the video. 15min video = 60min of transcribing. Then add translations (time required really depending on quality) and timing, typesetting, QA etc and suddenly offering (free) subs takes a lot of time. Remember that you're offering a service to some idiots who cannot be bothered to learn a language in 2-3 years. Total motivation ![]() On November 30 2012 10:41 andyrau wrote: I'm saying it's easy for native speakers, but most of these subs are done by people who aren't. Yes, that as well :/
