Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
No reposting of old material unless justified
Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)
Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Lyrics have never really been the most important thing for me, and that goes for english and swedish music which i can understand aswell. I mean im sure alot of people here feel like that here aswell? I mean it helps when you listen to kpop too.
Even as an advocate of your side on Korean Hip-Hop being as good and sometimes better than the western stuff, I have to disagree with this. Lyrics used to be and should be the main focus when it comes to hip-hop.
Really glad you mentioned this. So many albums are rated highly just because of production nowadays. Not that I mind too much, unfortunately.

I think the flow, rhythm, and rhyme is more important than lyrics. You can have the best lyrics in the world but without the rhythm, no one will listen to your song.
wow my sides are on mars. I think I'm done with this discussion.
I think it was you that posted tracks from Beenzino's album a few hundred pages back. Thanks for that, it's become one of my favorite albums of the year.

Gangnam Style Facts: 1. The old people playing board games behind PSY was Seungri and Daesung 2. The guy in the yellow suit is Running Man's Yoo Jae Suk 3. The girl behind PSY at the merry-go-round was SNSD's Tiffany 4. PSY's female companion in this video is 4Minute's HyunA
I think 1, 2, and 4, are true, but I remember asking about 3 (still not sure)...and was that really Tiffany? I didn't think it looked like her for some reason though...
I... honestly can't tell. It's a bit too grainy and the bit is too short. If not, she does bear a striking resemblance at least.
I feel like such a bad fan now D:
A little bit late but yeah that isn't Tiffany. In my opinion, looks closer to Semi from Chi Chi (Orange-haired girl). Sorry that I couldn't really find a proper picture and this is the only one I could think of.
Oh god no, if I hear this song one more time I think I'm going to explode. It's beyond me why they think they have to play it at least twice every episode, usually accompanied by a freaking flash back on what JUST happened...
Welcome to k-dramas TuElite, where every drama has only 2 or 3 tracks and feel the need to overly play them. I just can't listen to this song anymore after Gaksital, even though it's a nice ballad.
Hip-hop is more a political movement than it is a type of music. It has nothing to do with rhythm or beats or blah blah. It has to do with revolution. It's the anthem of the disillusioned. It just happens to be expressed through music and lyrics.
To me, a black guy saying words that rhyme does not qualify as hip-hop. That's rap. And a song like the above posted paper planes is not a very good representation, mostly because all the guy did was talk about boom boom take your money.
Answering to a few pages back about the tiffany in gangnam style, I'm pretty sure someone posted this + Show Spoiler +
video for the making of the mv showing that girl. Also some random kid at my school had a gangnam style wallpaper and "강남스타일" written all over his pencil case and the kid next to him was watching the mv on his laptop, this has gone too far.

How do you know either of those kids weren't already into kpop? I'm sure if someone saw you listening to Gangnam Style and didn't know who you were they'd think you only knew the song as well.
And for that matter, why is that such a bad thing? It's a good song, I'm glad people are enjoying it.

Pencil case? Are you in middle school?
Since when does owning a pencil case = middle school?

I think it's an alright song, but I don't really think it deserves as much hype as it's getting. I wrote "random kids" but I have been in classes with them in the past and know for a fact they don't listen to k-pop.
