My Fire Emblem experience means my support units are getting raped since I keep them surrounded with my units, but unfortunately, everyone has ranged weapons. T_T Edit: New Break Blade chapter! It's been so long... Edit 2: Shigwen service~

Edit: @Ecael I got to the part where Liza Brenner gets absofuckinglutely NUKED by Zamiel aka Red Balalaika. Hilarity. It was even done with like a 3D explosion effect rofl. Edit2: Hrmz, but the voicing from the VN doesn't pop up in the stream. That is odd. Edit3: Also Kei is annoying. Unless you tell me the story changes drastically like F/SN from 1-3 I'm probably not gonna be able to stomach all three (not counting Kasumi cuz she don't exist!) storylines for this ;d

I feel like Sangar and Kyousuke could solo entire armies if I let them (how on earth does a submerged mech Revolver Stake a plane to death anyways?). Everyone else seems horrifically fragile. My Fire Emblem experience means my support units are getting raped since I keep them surrounded with my units, but unfortunately, everyone has ranged weapons. T_T Edit: New Break Blade chapter! It's been so long... Edit 2: Shigwen service~ I assume you are doing Kyosuke's route, since you mentioned Sanger (aka Zengar), who the the best character ever. Advise: Don't spend money on your Gespenst units. I'd save them for things like Alteisen, Weiss, Huckebeins, and later on the R-Series. Like for Alteisen and Weiss, you should upgrade the attacks that eventually contribute to a Combination Attack. I THINK thats Revolver Stake and Weiss' Rifle D? Upgrading the Huckebein Mk2's big cannon thing is a worth while investment as well. Basically, if you have a good attack that does alot of damage, its probably a good idea to upgrade it. Save ALL your PP (Pilot Points) for SP Regeneration, and then get other stuff. SP is crucial, especially against some Bosses which can be completely ridiculous in OG1. Speaking of ridiculous OG1 Bosses, make good use of Energy Reducing/Absorbing missiles >_> If people are taking hits alot, make good use of things like Focus and Terrain. If you are afraid of stuff, Focus+Terrain+Dodge will make any real robot dodge anything. Eventually once you get your ship, you can use its support to tank hits too. Russel, and later Lefina and Rahda, have good support abilities. Stuff like 2x EXP after battles, or 2x money after battles. I HIGHLY recommend timing Luck (the 2x money ability I think) on units right before you kill an enemy battleship. Sooo much money. If you have a unit that you are using alot, but never dodges, it might be worth it upgrade the suit's mobility. Finally, if you just can't beat a level, if you simply lose and start over, you start the level over, but keep EXP and the pilots keep their kills. Which can be good if you need to level your guys up some.

Russel has already been assigned to support duty lol. His job is to make sure that Excellen doesn't die. In the last few missions, every single deployment has been in the fucking water. It takes like three full turns for the stupid Gespensts to reach land. -_- On February 26 2011 22:15 LaSt)ChAnCe wrote: so it looks like dattebayo.com has been seized by homeland security (unless they're just trollin') now i have to figure out where to lurk for the sequel to 07 ghost (if they ever release it!) It's like the only way I could damage them was by spamming strike on the units that had it. That or using Sangar. But now he's gone, so I've been upgrading mobility on the Alteisen like mad so that Kyousuke stands a decent chance with focus. Russel has already been assigned to support duty lol. Eventually you don't worry about them as much, but early on the only things useful are either planes, or whatever mech you equip with a Water Jet. Also, the Alteisen kinda doesn't ever dodge, so you might want to invest in Armor for it. IIRC Armor is pretty cheap as well. With enough armor though, the Alteisen like doesn't even need to dodge. The Alteisen is a Real Robot that thinks its a Super Robot lol Things like Repair and Supply modules are good for leveling people up, btw. MOST of the Gespenst in OG1 are kinda bad/generic. Gilliam comes with a good one, though. And in OG2, you get the Gespenst S, which does this: LOL

Also, wouldn't it be "Alt Eisen?" That's German for "Old iron."

Yes, that's where the name comes from. But they write it Alteisen. The games have a decent length on them, I think they are about 40 chapters each or something. OG1 has 2 different routes, with Ryusei and the SRX Team (Ryusei is a huge mecha otaku), and Kyosuke and the ATX Team (Kyosuke who is a badass). Eventually the routes sorta merge but not really.

The catch is that you need to get Battle Masteries for certain units/secret ending stage, but even getting them when you don't know what you are doing can be hard.

So the more of them you get, the harder the game is. And since you guys have never played a SRW game before, it might be best to dodge them so you won't get your shit raped every mission. I remember in OG2 how hard the Inspectors were got raped hardcore hahaha

That was so fucking brutal, I can't imagine anyone being able to do that legitly. I did it legitly, and I didn't have access to save states. It's not bad, you just gotta retreat to the moon area where you auto regen health/energy and have hiryu support defend everyone. Pretty easy, just kinda long. Also iirc, you have to take them out in a specific order. I don't quite remember since it's been like 3 years or so since I've played :O Clearing that level is 100% worth it though, cause of the stuff you get
