This thread can really get bizarre sometimes lol I don't see how a fight with post-count icons is a bad thing. Makes this thread even awesomer. Since I started reading it, this kind of stuff made me laugh more than once. I didn't say it was bad, just "post-count icon battle" into hentai dicussion was bizarre lol

So apparently the last Haruhi novel is 600 pages long.

The catch is that you need to get Battle Masteries for certain units/secret ending stage, but even getting them when you don't know what you are doing can be hard. Oh, I've been randomly getting Battle Masteries, but didn't know what the heck they were for.

It seems like thats a common opinion of people who don't like the genre. I'm not sure what it is that turns people off about them, though.
Have you ever watched Code Geass? Thats a mecha show, but even people who hate Mecha seem to like it.

Mitsudomoe season 2 ends with 8 episodes? Thats retarded.
|
Hm, finished Kidou Senshi Gundam. Was kinda disappointed, didn't expect the characters to be so stupid at times and there were logic errors as well.
Loved the good old pg-13 though. + Show Spoiler +

You mean the 79 series, right? That one didnt age well, but I heard the movie trilogy did it alot better. The series wasn't well received if my Gundam Lore serves me correctly, and the show was canceled early due to bad ratings or something (was supposed to be like 50 episodes). But the movie trilogy got really popular, and then the Gundam empire was established.

Edit: Is there a MAL Android app?

Yep, it definitely makes sense. The characters and the "randomness" in general made the series less enjoyable but the idea itself was good. Didn't know the series was canceled but I guessed so after seeing the number of episodes and the end which was obviously rushed. Gonna watch the movies now and I really wonder how they turned out.
Some examples of the characters: - Mirai meets fiancée, they talk and all and apparently she has some feelings for him but she leaves him alone nonetheless - 1-2 episodes later(like 3 days in the story), she is in love with the new guy who is on the ship for like 2 weeks so far...and immediately afterwards he dies
- Amuro lands on an island and finds a federation plane with 2 guys tied to their seats - he gets attacked by kids with stones(and burning material) which he didn't know before he saw them - later, Amuro meets the ex-soldier who is responsible for tying those people and the kids tell him that Amuro pointed a gun at them(which isn't even true) - instead of saying that it's not true, that he took the pistol to defend himself against whoever was attacking or asking the guy why he tied the soldiers to the seats, so that they die of thirst/hunger or because they lost too much blood, he proceeds to tell him that he(the ex-soldier) deceived those children....makes perfectly sense, right? -.-
Scene with mother after he shot at enemies who tried to kill him/would have captured him: M: Those men could have children of their own! And you shot at them? You've become so violent! A: What, you'd rather they'd have shot me? This is war! M: I know...I know, but how could you shoot at another human being?
-_-

-_- Amuro's mom was retarded, and his father was delusional. Poor kid.
Once you finish the trilogy, let me know how it turned out, since I've always been interested in watching them.
And I think you will like Zeta. Its considered the best Gundam show ever made. My only problem with it was some stupidity in the first couple of episodes, but it gets better fast.

Time for an epic SRWOG episode~

Well, his father had that disease(oxygen something) when he met him at side 6. But, yeah, even before that the gundam was already his top priority.
So far, the first 30 minutes are pretty much exactly the same. Very few scenes were left out and they improved some of them(the one where they fix the hole with those bubbles for instance). The movies are somewhat long btw(140 min, the first one).
I hope so. In contrast to Zeta, ZZ doesn't seem to be good at all, the ratings are pretty bad.
Zeta: ------------------------------------------- ZZ:
Rating 7.90 (589) (weighted) --------- Rating 6.08 (294) (weighted Tmp. Rating 8.21 (45) (weighted) --- Tmp. Rating 6.23 (25) (weighted) Review Rating 8.27 (3) ------------------ Review Rating 4.91 (2)
Wonder how it is in comparison to Gundam Wing. I really liked the pilots there because they were trained soldiers and acted rather rational. And I liked all the plot twists, the different camps and all the stuff which was going on at the same time.
|
Gundam Wing also had one of the coolest Gundams of all time: Deathscythe.
|
It wasn't the epicness I expected + Show Spoiler [srwog 21] +pushed back a week, this one was just vs Grimms and part of vs Ouka
Edit: the preview implies vs Ouka and Setme so it might even be TWO weeks before the manliness D:
Edit2: if we do 22=ouka/setme 23=zengar/odin then 24=alt eisen riese? lol
|
Gundam Wing had alot of plot twists, but I really hated most of the Gundam Pilots themselves, since IMO they were really boring. Zeta Gundam takes alot of the same concepts from the original, but makes it alot darker. Kamille (the main character) is like an evolution of Amuro, I guess.
ZZ is... Well, I guess its not terrible, but it really isn't very good lol. Especially the first half. Judau is a very likable main character, but the first half of the show is so random and childish, its hard to keep going. But once the opening of that show changes, the show starts to act like a normal gundam show, and gets better.
