If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

Does anybody know if there's another translation for the world god only knows aside from red hawk one ? Red hawk's translations range from passable to unreadable wich sucks since the story is really good when you understand what's going on.

Yea. Apparently a drama and a movie. Both live action.

Huh? I thought you were just doing it for the fanservice. Also "reading" manga is mostly the wrong wording. Skimming half-finished sentences is not what I would call reading. There are some exceptions of course but most manga are like that...

I mean, to be honest it's fucking annoying if a manga has a lot of walls of text. The author should just be writing novels then.
A good manga uses its panels and art to tell the story more so than text.

Well yeah, that's not what I meant, either. It's just very annoying to read half-finished sentences with wrong gramma or even complete absence of grammar. Most of it might be due to bad translations though. I never noticed this kind of stuff in european comics like asterix & obelix etc.

The fact that the narrator in Arakawa under the bridge is Akainu from One Piece somehow makes all his lines funnier.

Bad translations are definitely an issue but the (relatively) small text bubbles are probably also a big pain since one small japanese symbol could take up half a text bubble when translated to english.

Somebody forgot to mention that to Nisioisin during Medaka Box. (minor spoilers)

Is it some yuri light novel? I haven't been doing much reading lately. Still waiting for Spice and wolf 14 and I finished up all the Guards novels in Discword.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citrus_(manga)
It's a yuri manga, genuinely thought you would've been reading it already lol

It also made some people angry apparently. I can't remember why though.

I read a bit further. Maybe because it's only teasing all the time with both being on the offense at multiple points but the other one is denying it for some stupid reason? :D The plot is also quite bad, lol.

To be fair, I don't think Nisioisin is primarily a manga author... I think he's more a straight novel writer (light or otherwise) that prefers to use language jokes, puns, and such.

Then again, he may have the courage to put walls of text in manga. I could be wrong.

Honestly, manga that has walls of text are because the mangaka is an artist, not a writer. Writing a novel would just make the flaws even more apparent.

Well, let's be honest now, it's not like the Anime are less wordy.

And I guess more importantly, GITS as a franchise deals in hard sci-fi that needs to be explained and can't be visualized, and also on the whole knows when to shut up and let the visuals speak for themselves. As much as that series is known for that massive walls of jargon and philosophical, it's also known for the long, extended visual scenes.

It's not like nisio drew medaka box anyways. As far as I'm concerned, he isn't really a manga author at all.

ahhh, I see they are starting the anime original arc after the time skip which is nice. And lol Sae is pretty cute. Really smart as well. I wonder what she is going to do this arc. I believe this arc will only be for 8 episodes so I'm expecting Sae to be gone by the end
