Haha, it's gotta be one of the few anime I felt like I was being forced to watch it under a false hope it'd be worth it in the end. It wasn't. :D
Are you guys talking about .hack//sign? 'Cause I thought that one was pretty decent.

You know, this reminds me. I was talking to a friend last week and we actually boiled down that although Inuyasha isnt that great overall, its a really good anime to start with. Something about the story and paralell(whatever u spell it) world was very appealing at first. The first 20+ episodes were actually really good, but then the series just continued to drag and get worse and worse
It was like watching Rurouni Kenshin. The TV series would've been so much better if it stopped at the story arc that ended around episode 50 something(been a long time so i dont remember too well).
Sadly i felt the same way as Bleach. I loved it all the way up to the end of the Soul Society Arc. Would've gave it a 9 maybe even a 10. Then the series continued with fillers and whatknot. I immediately dropped it in complete dissappointment and never picked it up again.

So.... Hayate no Gotoku.
+ Show Spoiler +As soon as I saw Chiharu at the beginning of the latest chapter, I was like +1 Harem. For some reason I just didn't expect it =p

I maintain my theory that all these are done to give Hina a chance and let us avoid the dreaded Nagi route.
|
Saraiya Goyou ended~ + Show Spoiler +I can some fujoshi going bonkers over this _-_
Also it looks like Morishima Haruka's the first arc of Amagami, lol her route was HILARIOUS.
Legend of the Legendary Hero looks pretty decent. I had mixed feelings about the novels, but we'll see if it's just better animated (fantasy tends to be).

In other news: I hate how all the summer shows premier during AX. My feet hurt too. Tons of fun though. Megumi tomorrow yayyyyy!!! (May'n is really annoying in person. And has too many retarded fans. Ugh.) I have a lot more to rant on, but I gotta get to other things now...
Oh, and for all you K-On lovers, Bandai announced that they're picking up K-On!, and the people who worked on Higashi no Eden are coming up with another original work.

I've missed reading this. + Show Spoiler +The material was a bit more... provocative than I expected. Well, you can't say the mangaka doesn't know his audience. ![[image loading]](http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/3060/chiharulol.jpg) I can't get over how cute Chiharu is. Also, Aika is still missing? I wonder if that means she got into the castle.
I watched the first episode of Amagami SS. Not bad (Better than Kaichou has been recently, anyway <.< ). I hope this stays decent. + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/9947/utwamagamiss01xvid480pu.jpg) I always wondered where that "sex hair" meme came from. Now I know.

Dat hair! Well, I'm probably only going to watch Kaoru's route. I actually quite like this format of dividing up the arcs instead of integrating the whole into a giant harem (by which we'll be granted a spineless protagonist and an incoherent story). Though.. he is already in the negative just from the first episode. I'm hoping that the tone will be different for each section as well, so I don't have to watch typical anime tropes resulting from the other girls' archtypes.
I wish the last episode of the House of Five Leaves would get subbed sooner. Just caught up on 11(internet was down a whole week, rawr), and I'm a bit anxious to see what's next.

yeah just caught up with Amagami SS and Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi
Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi: + Show Spoiler +not half bad for now, don't really know what to expect from this one. Considering the trend in making endings the way you don't expect them to go I don't think Ookami's gonna end up with the guy but who knows, it might be one of those heart melters.
Amagami SS: + Show Spoiler +yeah this feels like it's gonna be another spineless guy becomes super harem pimp kinda thing, is it based on an eroge just like School Days? 'cause it kinda feels the same. Good thing that it's gonna be split in arcs cause I doubt I'll be able to watch everything. Obvious Imouto sequence or background rage inc.
@Mystlord thanks for .hack, so I guess //sign then //Liminality?

Not sure who you are but I can't even explain how glad I am you posted that, I've been looking for that anime for seriously over a year. Saw it first when i was little and completely forgot the name of it but remembered the first episode and wanted to finish it. + Show Spoiler +A really good one to start on.. I guess it depends on your taste but for me, the anime that got me into anime is prolly

Ookami-san (novels) gets pretty decent reviews but I couldn't stand it because it seemed pretty generic. I've been known to be wrong, but LNs that get good reviews tend to be like each other.
Amagami is a PS2 dating sim, and IIRC there was no harem choice. Miya was a hidden route. Main character is relatively gutless because he got dumped in a pretty bad way (the start of the story) and hasn't really gotten over it - the "secret" route that you unlock actually explains why it happened but I'm going to assume they won't air that. Haruka's route was just batshit hilarious because they're both (main character and her) insane. IMO it was a fun, short read, I could see why a lot of people enjoyed the game - I usually steer FAAAAAAAAAAAAAR away from dating sims (even Persona, which I feel is just a glorified dating sim) but Amagami was amusing (though lackluster compared to full-fledged VNs).
.hack//sign was nice, and if you consider it was one of the earlier (first?) MMORPG vs real world stories you'll appreciate it more (as opposed to nowadays where using MMORPGs in a story setting is overdone).

the way you describe Amagami reminds me of Kimi Kiss lol. PS2 dating sim? o_o didn't even know those existed haha. I think both series are gonna feel a bit generic (Ookami moreso than Amagami) because well, let's be honest it's becoming extremely hard to reinvent the genres. lol @ Miya secret route, so obvious haha. The cataclysm of the story doesn't make much sense though, why weep over a no-show date 2 years ago? that takes a serious lack of balls...
yeah I think a while ago (when I was 12-13) I had bought one or two .hack books but it was back when I was manga hunting in Montreal (long story short if you want english mangas in Quebec you pretty much have to go to Mtl or order them from the net) and I guess I got lost in the story or some shit. I tried rumbling through all the old series I have but I guess I just lost em or something.

Same company, Amagami was their second (and larger) sim. Was it two years? I thought it was one (~9 months), which would be a lot more reasonable. Being what it is Amagami's obviously gonna be generic to a significant degree, but it was still fun (both the game itself, and the manga) so, we'll see. I wouldn't recommend it to people, and I'd reckon it's nowhere near close to being for everyone, but certainly if you've played the game and enjoyed it it'll be a fun watch (for the routes that don't suck, anyways). Miya was one of the hidden routes, as was the teacher, but neither were the unlockable heroine, who ties the backstory (being left in the cold) into the present.

oh wow now that you mention it Shinonome Taro wrote/drew both Amagami Precious Diary and KimiKiss o_O and I was thinking the art was pretty similar haha..
|
I'd think at the point of seeing the art most people would've known that the two were from the same company.
Yeah, I think .hack//sign was one of the first stories that uses the concept of MMOs. The first few of that series was pretty good (not to mention awesome music, no bias yup), but the quality just feels like it declined steadily.

Funny enough, my friend was like LETZ PLAY AMAGAMI because Satou Rina voiced Kaoru and he was on a Satou Rina binge due to Misaka Mikoto.

I'm no veteran It did strike me as oddly similar (especially the blushing) but I needed some kind of confirmation to positively say it

Might be because I started on the light novels, never particularly got into following Misaka's seiyuu. I did think she did a good job with Misaka though. Now a new vol of Index please, finally getting to see more Misaka in action.
Do you have a Japanese ps2 or just a modded one?
|
I think he has a modded one, I uhhh, used other "means."
But yeah, now with pretty much all the anime I was "looking forward to" this season already aired I feel kinda empty.
