Oh yeah, about the ZZ Gundam stuff, the "It isn't anime" joke: ZZ Gundam tries to be silly and light hearted a lot, and randomly gets serious at times, so again, just don't have the wrong expectations for it. Also, Nagi liked Card Captor Sakura.

On the one had, I'm very disappointed about what they did with the plot, in terms of cuts, that I feel were unnecessary. On the other hand, the plot that is there flows well enough (even if it isn't as good as the series), and it looks really good. As I mentioned before I'm horrified regarding my poor memory when it comes to Nanoha A's, but I basically agree with you. While the fact that so much was changed is of course something very negative, but what was there worked well. And basically of the fights were really good. So, R;N ended. To be honest, I don't think it was very good. It did have some good moments, but in the end, I'm fairly disappointed. Basically, for me: C;H (VN) > S;G (anime) >>> R;N I have to admit that a lot of my love for C;H comes from the delusion triggers, though.

The exchange at the end was a throwback to the beginning of the series, sure, but the characters and their motivations are wholly different. The new girl coming in only serves as a foil to Akane's development over the course of the series. This is further reflected in how they framed the scene, with the girl looking at the dominator in innocence while Akane is standing alongside the enforcers, now a hardened veteran. Akane replaces Ginoza only in position - her outlook on policing is nowhere near as straight-laced as his was. If Ginoza is replacing someone, it's his father, not Kougami. His descent mirrors that of his father, right down to the loss of his arm. The post-credits scene annoyed me. Why would Kougami replace Makishima? What possible reason does Kougami have to destroy the Sibyl System? Existential grief like Makishima? Hell, Makishima himself had a pretty poor reason for being the antagonist in the first place - he was more a plot device than anything else. That in itself is fine, but having Kougami transition into his place is a bit of a stretch. It certainly doesn't help that Kougami isn't really developed in the series. We know basically nothing about him beyond his obsession with Makishima. Overall, I'd say the series did pretty well at developing the characters. The standouts would be Akane and Ginoza. However, the setting is almost completely wasted. The Sibyl system's lack of control over the dominators, for instance, was really odd. They were seemingly only capable of controlling it when the plot called for it. And hyper oats out of nowhere was silly. They had the opportunity to really flesh out this world, but in the end, they just neglected it. Finally, Psycho-Pass could've explored a lot of interesting ideas about human nature and society, but they never really got there. The stuff about people becoming complacent due to the Sibyl system and not recognizing violence, such as when the helmet guys were hitting people, was laughable. And I guess spouting quotes is one way to attempt to be philosophical, but it really comes off as a cheap way to do it. Psycho Pass 22 + Show Spoiler + I thought in the post credits scene it looked like Kogami was in a ship/boat cabin, as if to suggest he is leaving Japan. But I could be wrong.

+ Show Spoiler + I think it was a dissapointing ending, most characters we barely even scratched the surface of making the series feel unfinished and lackluster. Probably wont be another series the way they went for the "cycle" ending, possible movie though. The anime went from scary/gruesome murders and transitioned to kogami vs makishima, and lost its gruel after that which was weird. That brief lesbian scene sorta came out of nowhere too, which made me go "wtf". Overall, I think they could of done a better job with how they killed makishima (it lead up way too quickly) and more in depth background on characters would be imo interesting, a series with a lot of potential.

+ Show Spoiler + The new detective girl is the same girl whose friend was killed by Rikako. Maybe not the most relevant thing but that probably means she has an op psycho pass like Akane. The lesbian scene came out of nowhere? lol, go rewatch episode 2 and Yayoi's episode + some hints during other episodes. What's the meaning of the book Kougami is reading in the end?
