The first 15 chapters on one of the alternatives where MC gets to re-live the event was pretty good. It was alot like re-take from eva until they completely ruined it later on when it became nothing but mecha battle mecha talk mecha blah blah blah
And I also can't really stand mechas, they just don't make any sense military wise. Why in the world would you want to recreate human antonomy on combat machines when you are not bound by biological laws? Head on mecha makes no sense, and such huge surface area only makes you a target practice and greatly increases drag force. Having legs on mecha have no use whatsoever most of the time unless traversing in jungle-like environment, but why bother when you can fly. Mecha in those shows don't even use their legs to "run" anyway, they just have some boosters at bottom of their feet to push them forward. Completely defeats the purpose!
any show with heavy mecha undertone kills the series in my book. Macross was ok, at least they have the common sense to transform when going at a high speed (also mecha was not the selling story)
>manga The MLA manga is scanlated? Link?
Sorry, I think only the Chinese scanlation is available. I think link is against the rule, but you can google manhua 178.

I love how you found the need to explain something everyone knows lol.
bored at work tends to make you do things. Also if you have ever talked with any mecha enthuaistics, I'm sure they will disagree with many of my points

I have though about picking up nanoha for a long time as well, I've heard alot about it. just a few questions if anyone mind answering
1) how much yuri is in this show? comparable to madoka? 2) how action packed is it? 3) It is an old series, is the movie coming out this year the finale of the franchise or are they producing more anime later?

Nanoha is a mecha show, therefore, you won't like it.

1.) There is no yuri at all in it. 2.) Depends on which season. 3.) The 1st movie covered season 1, the 2nd movie cover season 2.
Even though the 1st Movie is technically a "recap" of the first season, it is better than the first season in literally every way. It looks better, its paced better, it cut out all the crap from the first season, and made all the stuff that was good better.
However, its nothing but mahou shoujo battle mahou shoujo talk mahou shoujo blah blah blah
And I also can't really stand mahou shoujo , they just don't make any sense military wise. Why in the world would you want to recreate human technology on magic machines when you are not bound by mechanical laws? Bows and ribbons on mahou shoujo makes no sense, and such huge surface area only makes you a target practice and greatly increases drag force. Having legs on mahou shoujo have no use whatsoever most of the time unless traversing in jungle-like environment, but why bother when you can fly. mahou shoujo in those shows don't even use their legs to "run" anyway, they just have some wings at bottom of their feet to push them forward. Completely defeats the purpose!
any show with heavy mahou shoujo undertone kills the series in my book. Heartcatch Precure was ok, at least they have the common sense to transform when going at a high speed (also mahou shoujo was not the selling story)
It's really hard for me to compare Nanoha and Madoka because they are just so different even though they are both magical girl shows. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha and Nanoha A's is definitely worth watching, StrikerS is ALRIGHT but I found that it was really slow and hard watch at certain points (almost everything before Vivio showed up I had to force myself to watch). Also the movie is really good, but I wouldn't watch the movie as a replacement for watching the first season.

If you really want to watch Season 1 of Nanoha you are better off going to watch Card Captor Sakura or something. Movie pretty much solves all the problems that s1 had.

Blargh, I've watched like 4 episodes of season one.. guess I'll switch to the movie for the first season then.

And how did the splitting happen, she just randomly splits in two?[
Just wait a few times at the end of the final battle instead of attacking. Black Alice is a completely different character so I don't know what Kaal is talking about.

Why not? The movie is better in every single way.
I suppose, it's easier for me to digest all of the information from the entire first season than having it all thrown at me in the one movie. But that might be just me.
