If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

I'm personally only waiting for Chihiro's arc to get animated.

Out of all of the arcs primarily revolving around capturing heroines, that was honestly one of the very few interesting arcs. The first four were interesting, but I personally only ended up liking Chihiro and Tenri's arcs simply because the heroines actually challenge and develop Keima as opposed to simply being an arc to get over with.

You know whose arc I hated? Reiko's. It felt like a filler capture -_-

Just got my hands of [August]Aiyoku no Eustia the Trial version. I have to say wow, this stuff is real good. hell Caim pretty badass of a MC, The art work is very....August-ish, you can see alot of resemblance of the character design with Fortune Arterial. the premise is pretty awesome too. Dam usually in VNs your best friend is a clown, in AnE your bestie is as much of a badass as you're. I am downloading the full version but it's untranslated =(
Edit: Finished it, it was really really awesome, can't wait until the full version finish downloading, I wanna read japanese >.<

Well, since someone else brought it up, I guess I'll write out my thoughts about Eustia.

The game is a pretty stark contrast of all the other games so far, with a much darker theme in general. Far as I can recall, this would be the first time that August has went with a style like this, even if out of just personal preference, I'd say this is much better than Yoake and Fortune Arterial. There is little to complain about the CGs and music, at that, the music is pretty good and there be songs by Ceui~ The production value of the game is quite good, I forgot what they did with Moonlight Cradle, but the default widescreen support was pretty good to see. Feels like they took an existing engine and polished it up a lot. A bunch of silly features got added there, like mouse gestures for an eroge. Seriously. Mouse gestures.

btw you start to get used to using them, pretty scary what browsing has attuned your hands to

Now onto the more important stuff, the character and the plot. Plot progression follows the true route, branching out at points into individual route. So like in other games of this kind (cough gsen cough), early characters got screwed over. Poor Fione. People should be pleased to see Elise and some of the other heroines though, since they are pretty much of a kind that August has never done (Licia ~= Feena though I guess, but I like Licia more). In fact, Uta can contribute here about my rants on Saturday about a certain yandere in an August game. In all, the characters themselves aren't particularly novel, but all of the routes are fairly well executed (sans for two that kind of got lumped together).

Plot wise, as you can see from the setting, this falls kind of near the sekai-kei idea of things. Though less of an apocalypse coming than the dread of the city collapsing, with the group of people you are with at the beginning having the worst of it. From route to route, the perspective that you take broadens. At first, you are just an individual from the Prison area. In the end, you are looking at the fate of the city as a whole, and consequently that of humanity (this is all that's left of it). I'll elaborate more on this part as people ask questions since I can't think of anything in particular that needs to be addressed. But like I said earlier, the earlier routes suffer more, since the main developments don't really happen till you go through the story for a bit. The first 2 routes are riding solely on the personality of the characters, with the more interesting focus of the genre coming in for the routes after that. Since there is no real way to address this, I can't really say if that's good or bad. Well, I guess the usual complaint is that they can shave some of the characters out and focus more on other things. But unfortunately, August has yet to be so bold as to have less than 5 heroines with routes in a game

That's all I can think of for the moment without massive spoiler tags, if there are any questions throw them my way and I'll try to add more.

Do you need to ask? :p

I still dunno whether to actually read it or not, as all Ecael can offer is "well it's not a waste of time" and it's tough listening to Ul because he's a very open moe-blob-man.

Eh I liked it, but then again I am not a sharp critic as you and Ecael lol, Ecael's not a waste of time is a decent investment of time in my book

Asking cuz I never seen it before, more so what it does

It was in the demo too, look at the systems page, there is a part devoted to keyboard shortcuts and another to mouse gestures.

as for the "its not a waste of time", well, that's mostly tailored for Southlight's preferences. I finished it in more or less one sitting on Saturday, so obviously I liked what I saw~ I do think you'll like this though, Uta, just not sure how much will you like it

Keep in mind I didn't recommend KoiSen for you~ At that, remember I liked it for the same reason Jade gave, lol dumping the same girl across all other routes.

Which one is Soneil ><

I didn't like Inganock/Sharnoth but you ploughed through Soneil and we had the little discussion about the steampunk series as a whole. I dunno. There are fringe works that you like and I don't, and I feel like Eustia falls into this. Especially coming from a maker that I find extremely dubious (bear in mind, you were able to take Fortune etc. but I thought they outright sucked...). Other fringe works include stuff like Akatsuki no Goei, which I can appreciate the charm of but definitely falls into the "well it's not a waste of time..." sort of iffy category. I also raged about Majikoi's ending, which a lot of people find bizarre because the rest of the VN is pretty nice. So all told...

somewhat skeptical still ;x

hmmm one the Heroines

I like Eris lol her character design is nice, and she has a unique personality to her character.
Eustia is well, I guess her naivety is a part of her appeal? I haven't read the whole thing so far.
The Trial version didn't really explore the Holy Maiden and her attendant of which both their names escape me, Fione, I am in to knight characters so I am slightly biased but she really reminds me of Benawi from Utawarerumono. Melt is nice too bad she is just a supporting character,
I really like Caim and Sieg though, it's rare for me to like the male cast in a VN but they're pretty awesome. =D so far I really liked the VN....

PS Torrent is so slow on the Full Version

Bitch I watched that when you showed it to everyone yesterday.

Also hype:

http://gigazine.net/news/20110503_typemoon_pv_machiasobi6/

The first few pics of Carnival Phantasm had me like "Okay they're gonna try to pass off stupid shit by putting in TYPE-MOON charas." Then the next few I thought "Okay harem...? (haven't read Tsukihime so I don't know if it had any harem elements >.>)" But judging from the rest it seems like it'll just be a random comedy series with TYPE-MOON charas.

There was barely any for Fate/Zero and Mahoyo. But they are lookin' good~

Edit: My bets are that Carnival Phantasm is shit, but ends up being well-received because TYPE-MOON charas omg.

Maybe they delayed it for voices =o

The thing that really draws me into Mahoyo is the uh...atmosphere(?). The game seems to have a young and fresh feel to it. Of course I'll have to wait for the translation in 2015 though. T_T
