Out of all of the arcs primarily revolving around capturing heroines, that was honestly one of the very few interesting arcs. The first four were interesting, but I personally only ended up liking Chihiro and Tenri's arcs simply because the heroines actually challenge and develop Keima as opposed to simply being an arc to get over with.

The game is a pretty stark contrast of all the other games so far, with a much darker theme in general. Far as I can recall, this would be the first time that August has went with a style like this, even if out of just personal preference, I'd say this is much better than Yoake and Fortune Arterial. There is little to complain about the CGs and music, at that, the music is pretty good and there be songs by Ceui~ The production value of the game is quite good, I forgot what they did with Moonlight Cradle, but the default widescreen support was pretty good to see. Feels like they took an existing engine and polished it up a lot. A bunch of silly features got added there, like mouse gestures for an eroge. Seriously. Mouse gestures. btw you start to get used to using them, pretty scary what browsing has attuned your hands to ![]() Now onto the more important stuff, the character and the plot. Plot progression follows the true route, branching out at points into individual route. So like in other games of this kind (cough gsen cough), early characters got screwed over. Poor Fione. People should be pleased to see Elise and some of the other heroines though, since they are pretty much of a kind that August has never done (Licia ~= Feena though I guess, but I like Licia more). In fact, Uta can contribute here about my rants on Saturday about a certain yandere in an August game. In all, the characters themselves aren't particularly novel, but all of the routes are fairly well executed (sans for two that kind of got lumped together). Plot wise, as you can see from the setting, this falls kind of near the sekai-kei idea of things. Though less of an apocalypse coming than the dread of the city collapsing, with the group of people you are with at the beginning having the worst of it. From route to route, the perspective that you take broadens. At first, you are just an individual from the Prison area. In the end, you are looking at the fate of the city as a whole, and consequently that of humanity (this is all that's left of it). I'll elaborate more on this part as people ask questions since I can't think of anything in particular that needs to be addressed. But like I said earlier, the earlier routes suffer more, since the main developments don't really happen till you go through the story for a bit. The first 2 routes are riding solely on the personality of the characters, with the more interesting focus of the genre coming in for the routes after that. Since there is no real way to address this, I can't really say if that's good or bad. Well, I guess the usual complaint is that they can shave some of the characters out and focus more on other things. But unfortunately, August has yet to be so bold as to have less than 5 heroines with routes in a game ![]() That's all I can think of for the moment without massive spoiler tags, if there are any questions throw them my way and I'll try to add more.

I still dunno whether to actually read it or not, as all Ecael can offer is "well it's not a waste of time" and it's tough listening to Ul because he's a very open moe-blob-man.

Eh I liked it, but then again I am not a sharp critic as you and Ecael lol, Ecael's not a waste of time is a decent investment of time in my book Asking cuz I never seen it before, more so what it does

as for the "its not a waste of time", well, that's mostly tailored for Southlight's preferences. I finished it in more or less one sitting on Saturday, so obviously I liked what I saw~ I do think you'll like this though, Uta, just not sure how much will you like it ![]()

Eustia is well, I guess her naivety is a part of her appeal? I haven't read the whole thing so far. The Trial version didn't really explore the Holy Maiden and her attendant of which both their names escape me, Fione, I am in to knight characters so I am slightly biased but she really reminds me of Benawi from Utawarerumono. Melt is nice too bad she is just a supporting character, I really like Caim and Sieg though, it's rare for me to like the male cast in a VN but they're pretty awesome. =D so far I really liked the VN.... PS Torrent is so slow on the Full Version

Also hype: http://gigazine.net/news/20110503_typemoon_pv_machiasobi6/ The first few pics of Carnival Phantasm had me like "Okay they're gonna try to pass off stupid shit by putting in TYPE-MOON charas." Then the next few I thought "Okay harem...? (haven't read Tsukihime so I don't know if it had any harem elements >.>)" But judging from the rest it seems like it'll just be a random comedy series with TYPE-MOON charas. There was barely any for Fate/Zero and Mahoyo. But they are lookin' good~ Edit: My bets are that Carnival Phantasm is shit, but ends up being well-received because TYPE-MOON charas omg.

The thing that really draws me into Mahoyo is the uh...atmosphere(?). The game seems to have a young and fresh feel to it. Of course I'll have to wait for the translation in 2015 though. T_T
