Well I'm sure we will get a kind of flashback next chapter that will show us the whole fight... The first thing that came to my mind was that Usopp (or someone else) had mentaly connected himself and Sugar as a kind of failsafe incase they can't get the candy into sugar's mouth. So whatever effects Usopp feels, sugar feels them too. Maybe a close range plant that connects your mind with someone elses. | ||

You can clearly see that sugar starts to freak out AFTER shr sees usopps crazy-face. Trebol even tells her to get a hold of herself... | ||
