![]() Hello schoolgirl - not normally my type of movie. Something I'd expect a girl to ask to see if it was in the cinema. *cough* romance. But I never felt the need to kick the seat in front of me in annoyance or stifle any laughs because the movie stank and even though i was promised we'd watch Bruno, it had stopped showing and there wasn't much choice left. This on the other hand, was actually good, and nothing over the top. ![]() My sassy girl - To begin with I turned this movie off, as I was trying to stomach dinner. I knew it was going to be good though, i'm not sure why. Absolutely hilarious, and not too sappy either (most of the time). If you can get over the vomiting. Excellent film. ![]() The Chaser - as depicted above, quite enjoyed it. The first thing that struck me was the violence.. I did like the film for what it was and without the need for ridiculous twists. I think I watched I saw the devil a few nights before, but cant remember which I liked more. But both had enough action, which I felt like, to keep me satisfied. ![]() Let the Bullets Fly - asked my housemates for a good chinese movie, one recommended this and a couple others tended to agree. Started off reasonable, but after a while I had to turn it off. They said because I didn't understand the culture, but I think it was just a bad movie - acting and plotwise as well. It might of parodied certain aspects of their culture, but I didnt enjoy how it was done. Would of just preferred a more normal movie that night. Don't think ill watch the rest of this one. ![]() Hello ghost - my house mate had seen this one and offered to watch it with me. I had a look at imdb and didnt think much. So I was very pleasantly surprised. Some cute humour and heavier scenes, but still feel good film. ![]() 3-iron - I am getting goosebumps just thinking about it. I watched a little bit at work but stopped as it looked really obscure and interesting - and saved it for home. Promptly procured many other Kim-duk movies. The atmosphere is so intense with very little words. Added to my list of top movies. ![]() Bad guy - Had this one before I went on a kim-duk- spree. The opening scene is fantastic. The rest (storyline and logic) falls short. Still it was nice to watch.

Just didn't like the intro scene, was kinda spoiler(ish). Wish they kept things in a chronological timeline.

I reach the most recent installment of the series. Almost everything in it is so fun and sometimes spectacular, the gadgets, the visuals, the plans, the stunts. Loved it. My only issue is a little too much cheesy humor and agent bonding, the whole they form a team tentatively, have conflict but overcome it to come closer and complete the mission, it's too formula (the Tom Cruise/Jeremy Renner history stuff especially, just no, get out, it's tacked on and we don't care). Most of the time the joy of Mission Impossible comes from "my god they just did what?" and "who's disguised as whom and going to backstab whom?" not lame teamwork drama.

The entire story arc involving "the bear" doesn't work thematically (bravery is apparently not a theme in this movie... so I guess it's ultimately about pride?) Either way it doesn't resolve the problems posed in the first act in a direct manner. That entire part of the story is kind of a wash. The rest of the story fumbles around with a shotgun of plot devices and doesn't manage to hit anything, which is so disappointing because the main character has the marksmanship of Hawkeye. Then we simply return to the status quo for some happiness that the movie and the characters don't fully deserve. It's not that I hate princess movies or can't stand cartoons, because I thought "Tangled" was pretty great. I am okay with the feminist undertones too. It's just that the execution of the ideas really sucked. Anyway, it's too hard to explain the issues with this movie without going into spoilers. I advise watching this once with your little sister and never speak of it again. Agreed. I thought it'd be more interesting (trailers all seemed to point to the girl screwing up "fate" really bad and having to fix it, title was "brave"), but it turned into....well you know. Bears.

There is some fantastic CG work in environments, and the colors are striking. It is a beautifully done movie.

Meet Joe Black is fucking 178 min long and tells a story which could've easily fit into a 90 minutes random romantic movie. Well I guess people have different tastes.. Edit: Movie I recently watched: Premium Rush - thought it was kind of an interesting concept for a small action flick. Turned out horrible 3.5 of 10. I could have boiled Cloud Atlas (the movie mind you, not the book) down to 60 minutes - and the acting was meh'ish. In comparison, Anthony Hopkins was just awesome in Meet Joe Black and the development of this ruthless media mongul is really well protrayed - even though it takes 178 minutes with some downtime. And whilst the actual plot could easily be condensed into "a 90 minutes random romantic movie", what makes it great is that they have refrained from doing so and allowed the silence and space between the characters to take up so much. Now is Meet Joe Black the best movie ever? Hell no - I can totally see why you think of it as you do. But I think it is a decent movie worthy of an upper end grading.

Somehow Cloud Atlas really moved me. The move itself is gorgeous, the actors were ok (can't really expect too much due to how many roles one actor must play), the stories were interesting and engaging. It may be just due to the fact that I'm a sucker for drama and asian chicks (Somni!).

The fight scenes in this movie are really long. I almost never complain about the length of fights, but I felt like it made the last fight unrealistic, like + Show Spoiler + The brothers could have finished the fight much sooner in several scenarios.

I love the RE franchise, the first 3 films were good (albeit declining in quality) but 4 was pretty shite. So i sat down tonight and put on RE5 with my wife. Holy shit balls it looks like an awful B-movie from the 90's, the cgi was crap, the acting was crap (lul zombies, more like drugged up teenagers with ketchup on their face.) and i turned it off after about 20 minutes or so (after ada wong turned up) It was just plain awful and i couldnt justify staring at an asians tits and ass for 90 minutes with my wife next to me. We then turned on Ted, which was hillarious - Seth Macfarlane never fails to dissapoint. + Show Spoiler + christmas - That special time of year where boston kids meet up to beat the shit out of the jewish kids. hahaha 8/10

![]() Just watched Das experiment. It is a movie based on the true story of the Stanford Prison Experiment, where 20 normal people are put into jail for 2 weeks to study their psychological state. The experiment ends up going badly, people go insane, and start killing each other. If anyone is curious about the Stanford Prison Experiment, this movie gives an excellent overview. The movie itself is very well done, and gives powerful imagery of how human sanity deteriorates.
