That execution scene... Lord, that was so true to what we were told in history classes in school. About how tough it is to actually decapitate a man in a single blow.
I loved the entire scenario north of the wall - aswell as everything going on with Arya and Tywin. The only thing "boring" in this episode was the scenes with Robb. But I bet there's a reason for those scenes to be there in the first place
Looking forward to the next episode

Well Robb is supposed to marry one of the Frays right? I hope he doesn't fuck it up.

Epic ending.. this season is already better than entire season 1 combined.

After watching season 2 episode 5 i wanted to know more about GOTR. Rest assured i won't spoil anything about the book. I started reading and ending the 2nd and i'm 1/3 of the third book.
After watching this episode. I feel that the TV series is so much rushed into the story and a lot of details aren't there or even replaced like the Ygritte/Jon Snow scene.
Anyways i post this to let anyone know you should read the books instead of being spoiled by the TV series, it must have been said a countless of time but i felt the duty to let everyone know once more! The books are amazing!

Hell yeah.
I swear every week there's a new hot female character

Man I love Theon now. Such a cool character.
And by love I mean love to hate. Can't wait till that bastard is executed.

I feel the show (can't say about the books) assumes its audience is retarded and that every character has to be EXTREME. Theon is now a COMPLETE dick, whereas before he was a joyful, nice guy. Whoa ! The characters have several aspects, look at our show it MUST be DEEP...
Nope, if he chosed to be a dick, that means he was a little dick inside all along, but we never saw this little dick. And because he wasn't a dick before now he has to be SUPERDICK so the stupid audience understands what he is now.

Ahah so true :D

I didn't like the scene where Jacquen assassinates the dude at Tywins doorstep. It was so comical. Ygritte hot, xD, who else was grinning like a toddler when she was um, grinding his gears?

Best episode of season 2, for one single reason; we got to see Tyrion slap Joffrey again. ^__^ That's insanely satisfying.

There is so much dumb shit in this post. Theon was always a dick. You just weren't paying attention.

The Vulcan in me is furious at John Snow's illogical inability to carry out the most simple of executions. I have a feeling that his little adventure with the female Wildling will end disastrously. Maybe because I'm usually pretty obedient myself, but I don't like how John and that other fat Night's Watch newbie forget to leave behind their sense of chivalry when wandering in the unforgiving wastes of the North.
And Joffrey is an idiot and so easy to hate. He kinda reminds me of Malfoy in a way, but I haven't read or watched the last two Harry Potter books, so I would prefer not to be spoiled.
And since it's HBO, they just had to throw in an obligatory sex scene in the form of that Wildling servant lady bedding Theon. That was kinda random, though she did have a nice body.
I'm terrible with remembering names lmao.

Is it me or does anyone else hate Dany with a passion? There's just something about her that's too entitled, or out of touch, or selfish or something. I can't put my finger on it.
I feel like at least half the people watching the show must hate her and half like her, or something like that. I'd be really forlorn if I was the only person that felt this way.
|
By the way, where does the title of this ep originate from?
'The Old Gods And The New'
I mean, the last one was pretty obvious. The Ghost of Harrenhal is Jaqen. But this one is pretty cryptic. Does it refer to the new rulers (mob rule in King's Landing, Theon in Winterfell, etc)?
@SimDawg:
I like Dany's character. She has grown up with a huge sense of entitlement (thank Viserys for that), but she has a gentle heart. Jorah taught her the ropes a bit, but she's still new to the real world. She doesn't have much bargaining power other than her nobility, her dragons and her possible claim to the Iron Throne. I don't think she would sell her dragons, and in Qarth her ancestry is of little worth.
I liked her more as Khaleesi than now in Qarth though.

It's only you, she's my waifu and I love her! But really, hers are the most exciting parts for me.

I could not have killed that girl either. I also loved how cheeky that girl was. :D Damn, I love redheads overall.

Well, to be fair that change is supposed to be like that from what I've gathered from reading the books. But how did you think he wasn't a dick before? I though he was acting like an asshole all the time

It was kind of vague. The priest recited all the new (seven) gods when Myrcella was shipped off, but that is all I can think of. I don't recall much mention of the old gods unless maybe Cassel said something about them before he was executed. In the previous episode, Brienne swore obedience to Catelyn "by the Old gods and the New". Maybe that scene was originally meant to be in this episode?
