Dany's story in Qarth is interesting enough without throwing in the distraction of two of Dany's handmaiden's disagreeing about whether or not Dany should be "Qartheen" or "Dothraki" Were they really arguing about her being Qartheen or Dothraki? Did I miss something? I thought the issue at hand in that scene, and in pretty much the entire episode was whether she would take the road of a princess, marry into some wealth and try to ride that to the Iron Throne, but along the way give up her true power to the man she wed, or if she would go her own way and do it alone, which is pretty much necessary if she is going to get what she truly wants. Because if she weds people will no longer be following her, they will be following her Lord, or her Lord's money, or something else. edit: I think we're getting at the same issue, just that simplifying it down to Qartheen or Dothraki is to skip past the point of it the way I interpreted her scenes. I agree that the whole idea of proposed marriage to Xaro is playing a role, but the scene that was on my mind specifically was when the handmaiden who taught her how to have sex was like "this is such a beautiful gown" (paraphrasing) and then the other, tan one (sorry I can't remember their names) said "she is a Khaleesi!" and got all huffy, and then conceded and said in a sad tone "it's a pretty gown, you should wear it." Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but I got the distinct impression there was a riff arasing in the handmaidens about Dany accepting Qartheen culture over the Dothraki culture. I interpreted it completely differently. I thought the key point was that the one handmaiden said "she would make a beautiful Princess" in that gown. And that is why the more Dothraki girl got huffy and said "she is a Khaleesi," because she objected to the idea that Dany should be anything less than THE Queen.

Bran and especially Arya are just getting better and better, intense acting.

- The line that's has intrigued many of us, Arya's "Anyone can be killed" was just awesome. The context, the delivery, that look. Even though she couldn't outwardly show how much she hated Tywin and wanted his head on a platter, you could feel it with every bone in your body. Pretty sweet stuff.
- The Tyrion and Bronn bit with the "wildfire" was pretty good. Seems like Tyrion is planning to make some medieval IEDs?
- As the show goes on Bran just seems to be nothing but a magnet for tragedy. Theon is aiming to sack Winterfell, and with no garrison left to defend, and with the prophecy it seems like he's on target for victory. The three-eyed raven ... I get nothing but bad vibes from the thing and the fact that Osha refuses to say what it means. I'd say what I think it means but I really don't want to see it come to fruition.
- Sir Jorah makin the mother of dragons cry! Also a pretty good scene.
- Between Melisandre, the opening sequence of S1 E1, and Bran we have all these prophecies, thus far they've all been on target, really wondering when one of these is going to fall to the wayside. I have a feeling Bran is the true visionary between him and the red priestess so I'm gonna stick by his visions and say that Stannis is being lead to his death. It would be oh so appropriate if that wildfire becomes the end of him.
- What is the name of the dude Arya saved from being burned alive? The guy who plays him is really familiar as well but I can't quite pin him down.
- The Dolorous Ed vs Samwell scenes are great, an unexpected bit of comic relief considering their harsh surroundings.
Now that we're halfway through the season I feel like the gears are really turning and there's lots of possibilities ahead, (everything above is speculation) I'm looking forward to seeing how incredibly wrong I am come every Sunday. #1 thing I was left wondering is what the Raven means. That scene really got me wondering. Obviously its nothing good. We shall see. Goes without saying, if you have read the book, don't correct me or answer any of my questions/predictions. Should go without saying but these are all my musings and they should remain as such, as should everyone else's thoughts. To you book readers: as we build towards the climax of this season, please be considerate towards those of us who haven't read. Looking forward to next week already!
His name is Jaqen H'ghar and he looks disturbingly like Karl Urban's Eomer from LOTR.
His actual actor is Tom Wlaschiha

Pyat Pree (aka Voldemort) and Theon's 'usurper' having Scottish accents made me happy

Shadow demon costs 100 minerals and 5000 gas and takes a whole hour to build. Not too imba.

I know that rooting for certain characters in Game of Thrones is bound to lead to dissapointment... but if Bran kicks the bucket I'll seriously be pissed. The actor's not bad either, probably overshadowed by Arya though, who's killing it.
As for Renly... he was my number one choice to be king. Renly as king, Stannis as hand, Robb king of the north. Daenerys can muck around in the east of westeros forever with her silly dragons for all what I care, the way she treated Jorah Mormont was... unpleasant especially considering she owed her life to him many times.

Loved this episode, best episode in the season, looking forward to the next, next sunday can't come faster >.<

Incorrect. Shadow Demon costs one bottle of wine + mood music and takes a depressingly short time to make. Definitely imba.
Also probably costs your immortal soul, though.

just a question but why were the night's watchmen saying Jon killed a white walker? was i totally misunderstanding that, or did I miss something? Or were they just talking about the zombie guy that he killed back in season 1?

Zombie guy for season 1 and I think they were saying 'wight'.

Wait... I just realized, the Lord Commander of the night watch is a Mormont, and Dany's servant is a Mormont, are they related?

I think its just that he resembles Greg Kinnear with longer hair.

Definitely confusing but wights are the zombie people resurrected by the White Walkers to do their bidding.

Daenerys can muck around in the east of westeros forever with her silly dragons for all what I care, the way she treated Jorah Mormont was... unpleasant especially considering she owed her life to him many times. Stannis ... lets just say I could never have pictured a situation in which Stannis was the hand and Renly was the king. After last week, one was going to die, one was going to live, simple as that. Anything else truly would have been fantasy and completely beyond plausible bounds of this world imo. As for Daenerys, I understand people getting turned off because she has great aspirations and is still only like, what 17? 18? The character would be less believable imo if she didn't have those foolhardy moments where Sir Jorah or someone else has to educate her. Besides she ultimately chose him over Zarozan Ducksauce anyways so no harm done. That was like the one moment she's given him sass, and even beyond that we all know what sass leads to ... so if you like Sir Jorah you should be glad at the events of this episode right?!

I thought it was displaying the inner conflict in Dany between her wanting to claim the throne for her own desires, and her keeping true to her "people", the Dothraki, and doing it for them. The way she treated the other Dothraki kind of shows now that she's with civilized people, she's views them as savages and seems to identify herself less as one of them. I think when Jorah talked to her about how he felt she would be a perfect queen, she sort of realized she was being lead down the road to betraying the Dothraki, and so she decided to go back to doing things her way. Though whether or not she'll continue down this way I don't know.
Least that's how I saw what happened to her this episode.

Go back to the episode where Jon gets longclaw from Mormont. He explains it was originally Jorah's but he brought dishonor on their house and fled Westeros.

I hate that moment when you have to return to your pathetic unepic life after the episode ends.
