It kept freezing and changing quality on me even though I think my internet is fine. There was no option to set the quality instead of having it automatically do it and I don't think letting it buffer for a few minutes even had an effect.. Anything I can do to make it better? I use HBO GO exclusively on my new samsung smart tv. It has built in wifi and connects through my router in the next room. The quality is flawless and I never have any buffering issues. I'm sorry you have a bad experience, I'm loving it myself.

I mean it's good that they are able to convey significant amounts of character given such small glimpses but it's also not very satisfying to follow the stories in tiny pieces.

Too many plot threads going at once, characters get like 1 conversation or have 1 thing happen to them then, then you have to wait for next week for 1 more conversation or thing happening to them. I mean it's good that they are able to convey significant amounts of character given such small glimpses but it's also not very satisfying to follow the stories in tiny pieces. I'm fine with that since there is so much going on, what bothers me is when they waste time showing random characters that aren't even in the book or have done nothing with their screen time

Last season ended with an epic standoff between the Lanisters and Robb and 2 episodes in the only progress to that storyline was one conversation between Jamie and Robb... Why? because we need to introduce Stannis... the least interesting character by far... I mean, does anyone have any emotional attachment in him? Is anyone else just frustrated that in a world with so many fiercely manipulative/ honorable / brutal / ambitious / clever leaders someone as mediocre as him gets screen time?

Please explain in how far the Stannis segments werent more about Melisandre and Davos than about Stannis. Personally, I think Stannis is fairly interesting, granted, he's not much compared to the Lannisters or the more interesting Starks, but Bran actually got a lot of screentime in the beginning of the first season, I think anything about Stannis is more exciting than Bran. Also, how is the negotiations between Robb and Cersei no progress in the Lannister-Stark conflict?

Perhaps the show isn't communicating the details of Stannis' character very effectively to you, but I'd say he's far more interesting than the somewhat one dimensional 'good guy' archetype of Robb Stark or Jon Snow. "Least interesting character by far" is a bit of a stretch.

Sorry but season1 focused mainly on the Lannister/Stark conflict. From here on out, the scope of the plot expands drastically, as every royal house in the seven kingdoms is seeking to capitalize on the political instability caused by Ned's execution and the accusations that Joffrey is bastard born. That is why you're introduced to Stannis in ep1 and Balon in ep2, and in ep3 I suspect you will also be introduced to Renly. These are not side-plots. They are integral to the over-arching story and theme of the show/books.

From here on the scope of the story might be just to big too handle for a TV series even one with a huge budget like this one. No matter what they do its not going to possible to cover even the main story points in just 10 episodes so there's gonna be a lot of unhappy people by the time this is over one way or the other. Spending valuable minutes of screen time on irellevant characters also doesn't help matters -_-

And I haven't read the books, so I really don't know if the TV episodes are covering the content accurately. I'm a huge fan of the show, but I'm starting to feel like things are getting rushed here. Anyone have any insight on this? Edit: Also, with George Martin working so closely with HBO, I can't image he'll let his work be butchered too heavily due to the 10 epsiode time constraints . . . or would he?

We get it- sex is important, a motivating factor and there is and always has been a lot of sex involved in everything. But you don't have to SHOW us so much god damn softcore pornography. Not only does it make it extremely uncomfortable when relatives walk in while you're watching, it is also just a waste of time, 90% of the sex and tits scenes add ABSOLUTELY nothing to the plot. If I want porn I'll just head over to red tube thank you. Same feelings here. The overload of sex scenes is starting to get repetitive and annoying.

And I've never read the books, so I suspect Stannis is certainly more interesting in his own right, but TBH he's so... forced. And yeah, I just don't give a shit about him yet.

Well, Robb and the Lannisters are in somewhat of a stalemate situation, and sending envoys and stuff, that can be considered the reason of no story-advancement. About Stannis, yeah, he is not manipulative etc. he is just (above reason) and cannot be bent + has the red priestess at his side. I can see why people arent fond of him, but i dont think he's boring, i really liked the letter writing scene with him

You obviously haven't read the books. The way Martin is cycling his chapters made me fucking ungry, lol. Inevitably there are some characters you like and wanna follow and some you find boring and wanna skip. But you can't skip anything in the books cause you miss major things. So don't you go complain about the tv series! xP Edit: Some douches spoiled the fuck out of the entire irc channel. We demand their heads!

He is hard cold facts and logic, no emotion and no compromise. "I didn´t love my brother, its a lie - take it out" any other "king" would have written "My beloved brother" since its i dunno polite and would strenghten his claim, but Stannis refuses to even tell that small white lie. He is... honor and logic beyond reason if that makes sense? Which makes him come off as very boring and cold since he doesn't act on emotion nor does he show it much. In a sense he is the complete opposite of Cersei Lannister. He is a good character no doubt in this hotheaded world ruled by emotion, greed and tits. He is moved by neither of the three in their own right and i honestly think we are not supposed to like him, he has the strongest claim to the throne and by right it should actually be his. If this claim were on say Robb, every viewer would be cheering for Robb the rightfull king, but the rightfull claim is actually Stannis a man showing about as much emotion and compassion as a stone not exactly redeeming qualities for us to like, and like ive mentioned like a broken record - i think that's the whole point. He has the right and law on his side, yet nobody cares or cheers him on.

I actually enjoy his section significantly more than than a fair few others because he is a bit different!

Most scenes aren't even good they are just awkward to watch... Like when the new prostitutes are screaming really loud and obnoxiously for 5 minutes while their superior lectures on them about their performance..... I just wanted that awkward scene to pass but it lasted 5 minutes.......LOL
