The expanse seems to be a level abvove other scifi shows that premiered this year like Dark Matter or Kill Joys. | ||

Introduces some characters, then kill them. Heavy politic tensions, rebel faction, ... Somewhat violent. So I maintain that it's really GoTesque right now, but I haven't read to book so it might not be the case after everything has settle. | ||

OT: enjoyed the 4 episodes that are available so far immensely, would recommend it to everyone into sci-fi stuff, you don't have to be part of the crowd that enjoys "hard" sci-fi to be immediately sucked into this world. Well, leaves me me pining for more is all I'm gonna say. | ||

I hope the detective's partner stays around, I feel he has a lot of potential for growth and potentially playing a huge part in any negotiations as he was trying to understand the culture of ceres and assimilate while being from earth Looks like I have some books to pick up | ||

Agree with the consensus, I'm hooked on the series already, I really enjoy this style of gritty sci-fi. I'll probably look into picking up the books once the first season is over. | ||

The first part of the first episode shows Julie Mao, alone in a spacecraft. That's who SigmaoctanusIV meant. She's the girl that Miller, the Ceres detective is looking for, so Twoflowers was correct. The "I have to tell you something" girl was a different girl. She is dead now. We don't know what happened to Julie Mao. | ||
