No, you're wrong. Yes the 3rd and 4th were ALIVE at the same time, but the 3rd relinquished the "hokage" title when he handed it to the forth. The manga explicitly stated that when the 4th died, the elders turned back to the third and reinstated his hokage title.
Also, I think naruto will stay a genin forever until the manga ends and he becomes hokage in like an epilogue kinda deal.

Depends on how you define it. There is only 1 active hokage, but hokage is permanent title and only is given up with death.

Uh, sure, there were two people who had the title of Hokage alive at the time, but one was retired and one was the active Hokage. It's not like the 3rd can just pop in and make decisions like an active Hokage would. There was only 1 active Hokage at the time and that is what we all meant, which is clearly more logical than naming the person who chose to step down from the post for the 4th as a Hokage as well.

That was just wrong. All you can say is that the 3rd gave his responsibilities to the 4th but the title is permanent and there are 2 kages (2 people with the kage title) at the time of a switchover of that type.

The only problem is that that statement is useless. Just because there are two people who have held the title Hokage alive at the same time, it is obvious that only one of them is the acting Hokage. It's not like Sarutobi had the same powers as the 4th after he stepped down from his position. What's the value of what you are saying, exactly? It's completely irrelevant to anything that Sarutobi still had the title of Hokage. If he had the same powers as the 4th, then that would be relevant.
Regardless of this hokage discussion, that last chapter was pretty awesome. MUCH better than the rasenshuriken uber-kill chapter (which was like 10 pages of boring messy stuff blowing up).
Anyone want to predict what naruto's uber jutsu's going to be next chapter?

So theres the hokage and then theres the retired hokage. Is that your point? You're arguing about the definition of being retired?

The only thing I like about the anime is some of the battles which are epic and pretty well drawn... Sasuke vs. Naruto, Kimimaro vs. Rock Lee, Rock Lee vs. Gaara, etc.
Gah... So jiryai, at 50 (Probably in his prime) barely took out one Pein at the cost of his own life? Naruto, after one week of training, takes out 3 Pein's effortlessly o_O? God, I hate this manga (yet I read it religiously). I mean, couldn't at least team Gai have helped.... Obviously, Pein has more up his sleeves, but come on =\. Hyperbolic time chamber and Naruto goes SSJ4. I did think his frog summons were cool though. Makes me wonder why Jiryai never used those frogs, nor Ma and Pa's other jutsus.
It isn't. Pein just finished fighting AN ENTIRE VILLAGE and he just used whatever pein clone creation technique compared to Pein having been sitting in his little tower resting. Additionally the frogs could not do much on his shoulders specifically because they had to be helping jiraya with using sage chakra while moving. Naruto is completely independant of that.
