The video I posted earlier could be used to justify Goku's apparent need to start getting better control of his strength. Hard to stay consistent with patching plotholes when the mangaka and Toei Animation aren't on the same page. Don't get me wrong, I'm critical of the scaling of power levels and the fact the SSB Goku would've obliterated Krillin with a basic ki blast from his index finger. Just be prepared for disappointment if anyone tries to take this too seriously | ||

From what I understand SSJB is basically all about controlling KI and containing it, when Goku and Vegeta trained in the dimension Whis made with his staff they could only move after stopping Ki from leaving their body and controlling it and it was after that they unlocked SSJB. The only reason in the anime Goku could do Kaioken with SSJB was because of the calm control of ki that the form gave opposed to regular SSJ which is raw wild energy so it could never work with Kaioken. So it would make sense to use SSJB over regular SS in the beam struggle against Krillin because he would have more control even with the higher energy output. Goku went SSJB against Krillin for two reasons (3 if you include marketing desperately justifying Krillin being in this arc, but that's another story.) 1. To test Krillins reaction to the overwhelming power, to see if he would just freeze up upon sensing an opponent with god ki. 2. Boosting Krillins confidence, if he could even have a split second struggle in a beam battle against Goku in that form he might be more confident in his fights against lesser opponents. | ||

Manga are generally the source material, that's why they are more highly regarded. In Super's case Toriyama gives the "key points" of the story to both the anime team and the manga artist and they are left to fill in the holes. That's why there are differences between the manga and the anime. Different interpretations. | ||

The reason this is way better is that it doesn't make Vegeta way worse because he's unable to use KyK. In fact, right now, Vegeta is quite a bit stronger than Goku. Hit isn't at the same level as Goku and Vegeta, where Goku mentions Vegeta could have beaten him if he hadn't used so much energy against the others. Zamasu isn't strong enough to take on either Goku or Vegeta in any way. The only thing he has against them is his powers as a God which include paralysis. | ||
