Very, very end of DBGT is Goku flying around on Shenlong and the dragon balls are absorbed into Goku's body.

Well, this next episode should be interesting. It's picking up in terms of story and intrigue. At least for me.

I really like the new outro for DBS. Interesting focus on Bulma too. Though they tend to somehow be detached from specific story elements...

Nice ep, cant wait to see uni 7 vs uni 11 that seems to be the main setup. Tho its hard to tell from that alien battle how strong the rabbit warrior is, hes weaker than toppo ofc and by quite a bit it seems. Buu was pretty kickass but i wonder if he stays in that form considering in the opening theme he's still fat buu.

At the end of their little fight, Buu said he was pretty sleepy so I'm guessing he somehow regains that weight while he sleeps and when he wakes up again hes fat Buu again.

Either Buu stays this way for the tournament and the opening theme simply showed him as fat to avoid spoilers or he'll get back to fat form before the tournament starts. I do like the slim form, total reminder of Super Buu.

Episode was ok, glad that we saw some of the other universes and some slight background info. Was hoping to see #17, guess I'll have to wait till next time. In before they make #17 super strong and have him make Goku go SSJB lol

For those who don't know what happened to #17, here's a summary from the wiki:
After the conflict with Cell, Android 17 becomes a park ranger in the wildlife preserve area of a gigantic royal nature park, where he is well paid. He is an outstanding guard who does not hold back against poachers. It is an ideal job for #17, as he loves to be on his own and is not big on cooperating with others; since he is so good at his job, he takes in a high salary. Android 17 also marries a zoologist; they have one child and two adopted children, and live happily in an isolated house inside the nature park. He went and met #18 and Krillin one time, but did not talk about what he had been up to, maybe because he considers such a wholesome lifestyle embarrassing.

Really cool seeing Buu put in some work. Buu is still a really strong combatant, I bet there won't be too many who can match him from the other universes.

I dunno tbh, Buu is strong yes, but the guy hasn't tried in years. As for matching, I feel like Goku and Vegeta are a definite yes for staying on stage and this will become 1v1 afterwards, maybe Buu but no one else.
Thanks LL, didn't realize he was married. Thought he just worked there.

In truth the Saiyan style of fighter does seem to be a trope that perhaps has been overemphasized. Saiyan strength is based on transformations more than anything else, whereas Buu, Piccolo, any of the humans, etc., have a much different source of how they draw out their strength. I would like to see beefy versions of the others that would do some good. There is something to be said for the ungodly resistance of Buu and his magical abilities that made him so utterly menacing as a villain.

Great episode.
Buu had a great performance and I really dig the direction they are taking him. A+. I don't think he will wake up fat. Buu seems legitimately fired up after slaying that furry. I also like how they are not letting Buu just be some random dumb fuck. He was smart in DBZ when it came to fighting and had some clear strategy going for him. Same here with just straight up stretching Goku out of the arena. I look forward to seeing Buu totally exploit his abilities during the tournament and I am doubtful we will see anything on his level in terms of his resilience. As LL mentioned, he is nearly impossible to kill. Lets not forget what it took to finally bring that fucker down. Not entirely practical in a tournament scenario.

Remember how long Buu was dormant before being resurrected? Remember how badly he fucked everyone up like 45 seconds after waking up?
EDIT: One more thing: We're at 37 hours til the tourney. Didn't we start out at 40 hours til? This is a pretty productive 3 hours, lol. We are totally on track to allow all the universe 7 fighters time to go in the time chamber.

Buu also beat up Majin Vegeta so freaking much, that Vegeta decided to kill himself.

So they are having this big fight against opponents we don't know about at all, until just now, and they are struggling to paint a picture about who some of them are. Why should we care about what happens to the fighters from the other universes? Also, the universes being 'erased' that's kind of bland. Doesn't give the watcher that much reasons to care. They had the same problem when they fought Champa's universe. Yeah, we cared for the Beerus-Champa rivalry, but all their fighters had no background.
As for Krillin, Tien and Roshi, are they really fighting? Really? That's Goku & co delusion, right? Surely Beerus doesn't want his fate to rest on Roshi being able to beat people who are possibly stronger by a factor a billion? I hope Beerus or Whis come out and point out the absurdity of this, because surely no watches is convinced.

Given that Roshi, Krillin and Tien have been in the intro for a while now, I think we can assume they'll be in the tournament. Not as powerhouses obviously, probably some kind of tactical support or something. Sure they *could* get knocked out one second into the fight by an enemy powerhouse, but hopefully that's where Goku/Vegeta/Gohan/Buu come in to avoid that.

I disagree with this, 7 universes being erased is pretty high stakes for me as a watcher. We have some background on universe 6 and plus we have a bit on the pride troopers as well and I'm sure during this mini recruitment arc they are going to give us background on some of the top fighters from other universes as well. I see no problem with this tournament, I'm hyped for it personally.
Krillin, Tien and Roshi are kinda weak, they are trying desperately to justify it these last few episodes with the whole tournament experience stuff but it's 99% a marketing decision as opposed to a logical choice.

Wouldn't Yardratians be a much better addition to the team than Earth rejects? They seem to be masters of insane technique, which is really the only thing keeping Krillin relevant.

If the last episodes teached anything then its that sayans are stupid and don't understand ring out rules... Despite having fought and won in tournaments with ring out rules before.
Its just dumb.

Yeah, this was my thought as well. This idea that Gohan is inexperienced is brain dead. What makes Krillin so experienced? The fact that he appeared in Dragon Ball as a child and did various chores for Roshi? He was lazy throughout the entire show.
Meanwhile, Gohan outdid Krillin in every moment in the Frieza saga. He fucking took out Cell for fuck's sake. He trained with Goku in the time chamber prior to that. Then he did what he did against Super Buu and he's just some dipshit? Meanwhile Krillin is a shitty cop.
The only thing that makes Krillin somewhat justified as a better fighter is the fact that he was in dragon ball. That's not a good reason. He's just a character that has existed for longer. Plain and simply, there is no logical justification for Krillin to be some kinda wise man compared to Gohan. The only person who should have been a wiser fighter than Gohan is Roshi himself. Roshi's ability to keep up with the speed of various SSJ fights (from an observer perspective) is well supported (though sometimes inconsistent) in DBZ. He's always been able to track and predict the progress of various fights. Meanwhile, Krillin is usually shitting his pants.
With regards to the Goku vs Buu, that was somewhat justified. First of all, Goku never even went SSJ. Second, Buu's ability to constrict movement and heavily exploit his physiology is well supported. Buu was never dumb as a fighter. He was always a good strategist as a fighter and him coming up with tricks against Goku after watching Goku fight in the exhibition match, and fighting him extensively previously, makes sense. If he is suddenly filled with a surge of motivation to thrash furries, I am not having a hard time believing he came up with unique strategies at dealing with people with human-like physiology and limitations.
