A year later from the last time, anyone still following along with the source material (manga and/or Heroes)? Both are still going, somehow.

Manga seems so-so, but I’m not really sure how it will play out as an anime. Moro just... doesn’t have much to offer as a villain, and the story arc suffers the same coherency issues that really dragged Buu down as an arc.

Stopped bothering with Heroes. It’s just a sloppy fanfic at this point.

I enjoy some of the things the manga does. More of a seperation between Goku and Vegeta in what they're aiming for. Also this arc for what felt like the first time in Super invoked a bit of that old DB/DBZ feeling with us exploring the galaxy a bit more and our relegated side Z-warriors fighting across Earth and actually being useful, even Yamcha. Sadly it was thrown out the window pretty quickly.

Moro's magic tricks were fun, but now he's just another mega strong power fighter which makes you wonder how the fuck the Supreme Kais ever made any progress on him given that they were weaker than Kid Buu and yet Moro before rejuvenating on Namek would have clapped SSJ 3 Goku (who was pretty close to Kid Buu) and now once rejuvenated claps Ultra Instinct Sign Goku.

Ultimately the series hasn't done itself any favors with the introduction of Gods of Destruction either, because one has to be left in a constant state of wondering why Beerus never does jack fucking shit. When people go rampant in the Universe and destroy everything, he sits on the sidelines not intervening - except for dealing with Zamasu but he left his Universe for that. Even though it's his and the Supreme Kai's shared job to make the Universe reach its maximum potential and even though he's been threatened with getting erased for having a low level Universe just in the previous arc - he still just lets Moro eat a lot of the inhabitated planets. And there's no good reason in sight.

And of course they've still done my boy Vegeta dirty with 0 meaningful victories and I have to assume it shall stay that way forever.

Elentos pretty much read my mind on it. I think the last comment by Whis is what gets Beerus more active. You could see he was clearly agitated by the comment.

I asssume Beerus not doing anything is in his character. He's clearly modeled after a cat which are notoriously lazy and curious creatures. We first met him after he's been sleeping for like decades and then he only woke up because something peaked his curiosity. He's stayed around because he's entertained not because he necessarily cares about anything. All features of your standard house cat.

Exactly. Thought they were going to do something special with him - the whole "he's not that strong, we could probably take him under the right circumstances" angle was a really solid one - but then they just didn't follow up. And then they brought Buu back as an ace in the hole and did nothing with him. It's just the same sort of pointless character buildup that deteriorated many of the later DB-series arcs, starting with the Buu arc.

I think you guys are disappointed too soon. He ain't dead. Arc isn't over. Remember how Zenoh fucking erased a universe? Who expected that? No one. It was a garbage idea, but my point is that we should hold off on Moro being just a big buff dude for now.

I mean keep in mind we just saw Goku get totally jobbed.

Either they give Vegeta a meaningful victory (gonna have to tie with Moro or weaken him severely) or they have Beerus intervene. Or we get Gogeta.

Thinking they should bring Buu back for the finale. Otherwise it's some terrible wasted storytelling in the first part of this arc.

Would that prospect surprise anyone though?

I also don't know what Buu could really do at this point. Moro is far stronger now than in the beginning of the arc so all Buu's really good for is maybe healing people and sponging some damage.

Kai's God power disappeared with Kid Buu though. He can't use sealing.
Goku and Vegeta are both down, so barring fusion I have no idea what could happen. Maybe Beerus will step in, realizing that Moro is bringing down the power level of the universe by killing too many people.

Vegito needs the earrings, right? Who's there to give those? And they probably won't fusion dance to give us Gogeta either. Also, not sure Vegeta is willing to admit defeat this early or do fusion to tap into UI.

I dunno about Gohan... he did well in ToP but it would do a huge disservice to Vegeta's recent training to not include him in the actual win against Moro.
