He gathers the energy of everyone/everything alive left on the planet for one final attack, and it is strong enough to kill Zamasu. So far, so good. Spirit Bomb and all, we've seen this kind of thing before. But then you realize that Earth is an almost entirely dead planet and the human population is miniscule. The 100 half-dead people left on Trunks' Earth gave him as much or more energy than Goku got from from multiple planets and people in the afterlife in order to destroy Buu. yes, it's quite stupid and a terrible ending for this arc imo. Glad Trunks did it but the whole fight kept getting pushed constantly until they had no choice but to make Trunks somehow beat an immortal who is essentially a God in that future.

At one point Black by himself was strong enough to distort time and space with his scythe and take on Goku and Vegeta by himself. Fused Zamasu couldn't even produce an attack strong enough to beat Goku (alone) in a beam struggle. He fights okay-ish against Vegito (after both Vegeta and Goku got senzu'd) but then he has trouble overpowering Trunks. And then Trunks starts somehow collecting the energy of every living being on Earth - which, A. how did he do that? and B. how did he get energy from that Android who probably doesn't even know who he is? Remember in the Buu arc when that was a problem? - and somehow gets an energy ball that size (significantly bigger than what Goku managed to do against the Saiyans on Earth despite actually knowing the technique). With most of humanity dead and few strong fighters around to give bonus energy. So that's just fabulous. And apparently Gowasu is the only Kaioshin in the entire series who has a clue about anything. Maybe he should officially become the Supreme Kai of Exposition in the next Xenoverse game. The bottom line for me is that way too much shit happened in this episode in like 15 minutes. It would have been better if these events had more time and they'd taken away some of the less important parts in the 20 episodes beforehand. This arc had a lot of good stuff but also some really weird shit going on and the ending felt way too rushed. I'm with you. I'm fine with power ups as long as they make some sort of sense. Freeza's powerup didn't bother me at all in Super. For the most part most of Super hasn't. But Trunks powerup bugs me, how fused Zamasu couldn't beat back Goku's blast by himself bugs me, same with the fact that he could even hit him lol. I know DBZ/DB has had ass pulls, but this was beyond an ass pull and very annoying. It kind of ruined the arc for me with how the last couple of episodes went. Not only that, but another thing is how quick the fights are. There was too much Zamasu talking about THE SAME FUCKING THING over and over again, then 30 seconds of fighting, then back to lecturing. I know DBZ had that, but not to this degree of annoyance...

the power level is inconsistent but it's still ok-ish imo

I didn't like how they used Trunks. As for power levels, I'm already scratching my head as to how to make sense of it and I hope the manga can do it better like what it did with Hit vs Goku with less deus ex machina means to get to a conclusion.

One other thing that bothers me, though, is their use of badly designed cliffhangers. I didn't like them in the tournament arc, but here they just border on ridiculous with all the random times they cut off in the middle of a scene and then spend 8 minutes in the next episode building back up. I don't like waiting a week for an episode that is half filler, wtf.

I imagine this shit won't bother me 5 years later if I'm rewatching the series. One other thing that bothers me, though, is their use of badly designed cliffhangers. But nope, had to get all the shit into one episode. Yeah my opinion of the arc is for the most part positive but this conclusion was so incredibly unsatisfying to me.

Hopefully the manga will come back in and make some sense of the continuity so that we have something to not be pissed off about.

If you buy the anime dvd set, it should come with a scouter you can wear that shows everyone's power levels.

I can't believe how clueless he is, even if he is the God of everything.

Well next episode looks like filler, so guess we're done with this arc. Cool.

I actually liked the ending, although I think Future Trunks and Mai might as well have stayed in the present... Completely agree. Would've loved to see Future Trunks take a regular role in the series.
