BEST MOVIE EVER? QUITE POSSIBLY.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/fyxLn.gif) Can we please make this gif somehow related to StarCraft? Maybe when someone demolishes Zerg with Mech play? I just want to relive the glory of that scene everywhere.

After all these years+ Show Spoiler +
GlaDos: Always
And btw why in the, isn't this cinema stuff. You go to the cinema for shit like this. If you wan't to emerse your self with the story you don't go to a cinema where other people annoy you.
I go to a cinema with friends to have some fun and watch some fun action and stuff not to whine about a story that nobody cares about.

"To fight monsters... We created monsters" and the monsters come from a a portal to another dimension... this is obviously a prequel to Portal. We created Glados to manage the project, but she goes haywire. We get to the portal, analyze what makes it work - bam, portal gun. And so it begins...

thats a ripoff of mazinger Z, the japanese robot animation. And theres a bunch of comparisons of this movie to evangelion in this thread. Evangelion is fucking stupid too. That tells me I should watch this movie when it comes out on DVD at my local library.

I have no idea of those things, I am just giggling like a 8 year old about a giant robot smacking an even more giant sea alien. And yeah it's stupid but in a hilarious way.

Looks terrible imo. The only thing these "mecha" have going for them is size. Rest about them feels very "meh". And also, the enemies are boring as fuck.
Yeah, it's Mecha vs Monsters. Not my thing if all it has going for it is fight scenes between those two.

Anyone who watches that trailer and wants to get all critical of plot etc is hilarious. It's a movie about giant things fighting. Suspend disbelief, prepare for horrible one liners and numb your brain. It will be fun.

Can anyone explain the connection to GLaDOS to me? I mean, I'm totally gonna watch the hell out of this for del Toro being the director alone, but the GLaDOS involvement seemed kind of.. random. I mean, it's not the character they are taking (um.. right?), but just the voice. That's so weird.
Is there some kind of official explanation for this?

Right. What? Obviously that's all what this movie is about.

Well that's sort of the thing. The only thing the movie has is the fights. And I'm not a fan of neither the mecha design nor the monsters, of what I've seen. Doesn't feel awesome, just... big.

Movies are fake. Can't see why they can't go over the top with things. If I wanted real stuff I'd watch a documentary. Or read non-fiction.

Personally I hope Del Toro brings a bit more to this, the trailer looks a bit cookie cutter. I will see it, but I am getting distinct Hellboy vibes, in that it seems less quality than his darker fantasy films.

And this doesn't look like a movie that will be even close to that kind of humor.

If this Movie is successful, wait for Larry Flint's adaption of it: Pacific Rimjob or sth like that.

If your giant robot talks, and you can get some more tickets sold with a voice why not? If you are a movie goer who never played portal it is really all the same to you anyway.

Yeah somewhat true. But in the end, making sci fi or fantasy movies doesnt mean they entitled to make movies without a decent plot. I dont care if its about monsters from mars. A good plot is still in order. I hope it doesnt haven any cheesy one liners. Hollywood could use at least one bad ass monster movie that doesnt disapoint in the acting and plot department.

I'm still hoping there's more to it than that, though. del Toro usually isn't that cheap.

So its live action Evangelion without the emo teenagers. I'm down for that. Also del Toro is an excellent director so this should be pretty good. Also having GLADOS being the voice of the robot makes me think something is going to go horribly wrong.

Wait, why is Glados in this one?
