Luke staring at the ocean felt cliché, the stare went on for too long, and the shot filmed from a moving helicopter was super-cheap and looked like what you'd find in a treasure hunt TV show. Yeap, it was another weird choice of pacing. Everything in the movie is so fast paced and then we have this reeeeeally long scene when Rey and Luke are starring in each other. Given the pacing of the movie it felt awkward. I guess the producers wanted to finish the movie on a high note but it made me feel like I am watching a TV serie...

I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth. lmao Seriously though, I want to know how Lucas wooed his wife with chat like that.

I feel like JJ's reboots feel almost too fast paced compared to their predecessors. The Star Trek reboots were jumping all over the place in the span of minutes. Star Wars didn't feel as fast paced, but it could've definitely still used a few more minutes to flesh out the backstory. Plus, there apparently was a cool snow speeder chase that was cut out late in the editing process, leaving us with a bunch of snow speeder merchandise despite their non-existence in the current cut. Wrath of Khan and A New Hope felt pretty slow paced to my modern-tainted tastes. Undiscovered Country and Empire Strikes Back felt perfectly paced to me.

Lucas was married when made ANH, before being filthy rich. And his wife helped with all the films, specifically with punching up scripts. People credit her with the success of the Han/Leia love story and why that was so believable.

Certainly, of all the flaws I found in the film, it's got to be way down the list. Compared to the prequels, it's fucking Shakespeare. Compared to what some of the Star Wars names sound in portuguese, we are in heaven! Trust me.

She always put the rebellion first in 4-6. Anyway they have space phones. Rey can just say "hold on" and dial Leia and then put her on the phone.

Of course she could have changed over the years, yeah, but then that's another character change that happened off screen.

It's not totally beyond explanation, sure, but it doesn't really flow for me. At any rate, unless Leia has really changed, her putting administration of the Rebellion before friendship doesn't work as an explanation - especially when she's been searching for Luke for ages anyway. Edit: Like, she sent the Resistance's best pilot to follow up on a clue. But when they actually know exactly where Luke is, Leia sends a random she's just met. And yes, maybe Rey is not a random. . .but then you'd think she'd have a wee chat at least. Or something. At any rate, if Rey isn't someone that Leia already knows, it's going to be a very odd decision.

However, if it turns out Rey is NOT Luke's daughter than this is all rubbish and none of it makes sense!

But besides, does the Falcon not have a passenger seat? On January 08 2016 12:01 MaZza[KIS] wrote: It will all make sense when Rey is revealed to be Luke's daughter. I think Leia sensed it and so did Han (although not through the force but he's still a perceptive dude). Or she was has favourite pupil or something.
