Not completely satisfied with it so im open for suggestions.
You can take that as either "That was a well-played troll", or "well played, you troll"
If you're being serious, more power to you & we can agree to disagree. If not, I just have to say that LoK is nowhere near as emo and/or bad as those two songs are to many. The show's target audience is broad and full of open-minded people. Not to mention the show's music is seriously good, even out of context: https://soundcloud.com/jeremy-zuckerman/sets/from-the-legend-of-korra (comments may contain spoilers)

I'm not ready for this thread to end yet either. What a great show.
I'm not a huge fan of AMV's, but yours is pretty good. One pet peeve of mine is when dialog parts are included with characters silently mouthing to each other while the music plays. You did a good job of minimizing that, but, IMHO, if you figure out a way to get rid of them altogether, it might look a bit more professional.
It wasn't hard to spot the omission of anything from the last two minutes of the show. Maybe you did this because you wanted to focus on the battles, or (forgive me if I'm speaking out of turn here) maybe you're not comfortable with the way the show ended, or you think others viewing your video wouldn't be. I could see the logic in any of these arguments, but I'd suggest that this video, and the show, are about overcoming adversity, realizing one's power, exercising empathy towards others and achieving balance. I think that the way the show ended is linked to that, and a brief shot from those last two minutes wouldn't be out of place. Just my opinion.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the critique. I think only the first scene with Korra in the pool has someone actively speaking where i could cut it differently. The other one, in the arena, is somewhat necessary to tell the 'plot', i dont know how to do it otherwise without losing anything. As for the ending + Show Spoiler +
The biggest argument against that ending ive read on reddit was, that it just overshadows everything else, especially the group. ATLA did end similarly, but at least every main character shared the last scene in the tea shop and they enjoyed each others company. With LoK we have the wedding, but most characters just get glossed over and dont even get a line with Korra. Bolin and Korra had like 3 minutes screentime together through all the season and they didn't even get a final conversation. Neither did Lin or Su, who played a very big part in the season and in the whole show. The final scene takes away from the group ending, which is especially bothering if you dont care about shipping. Also, without setting it up with the wedding, it would look weird to go from that group scene to the portal scene immediately, but there's just no time for more without leaving out important stuff, thats why i decided against it. But the video wasn't as well received as i had hoped, i guess because of that, so i'll try to make a new version soon with the proper ending

Yeah me too. She just looked like the evil daughter right from the start, almost like an archetype of evil princess that tries to bring the male lead to the dark side. I was totally expecting her to backstab Korra in season 1.
@Seasons: For me it's 3>>4>1>>>>>>>>>>2 One looses to four for me only because that terrible love triangle had way more showtime than the terrible robot. One was overall more cliché as well, even though Amon was pretty cool. That being said I like every villain except for Un'alag. Overall I really liked four except for the robot.
@Korrasami: Didnt see it coming. They had some moments before that could have been interpreted as gay, but I just thought of them as really good friends. That being said I agree that it was the most natural pairing and while I expected nobody to end up with anyone (I wasnt even sure if Varrik loved Julie) they created more of a happy end the way it is now.
On the seasons i feel almost completely the opposite. I think season 1 was the strongest on the concept of the vilains that they are not the bad guys just because of pure evilness but because they have reasons you can understand and even agree with. + Show Spoiler +
Also the twist that the bad guys are also kinda victums was well executed in my opinion
. Season 2 was the most "funny" one in my opinion + Show Spoiler +
and the backstory with the first avatar was also cool especially the change in the art design.
. Season 3 was the weakest in my opinion, the earthqueen was actually more jar jar binks then a real dictator + Show Spoiler +
and why exacly was Zaheer the best airbender of all after 2 weeks of getting the ability? Doesnt it take years of training? And the endfight was just like DragonBall which is a bad thing
Season 4 felt so forced why was Borlin with the bad girl again? Why does any series need a poor mans yoda (even she was badass)? And. Dat. CGI. Robot.

In ATLA they explained that bending is just an extension of your body (thats so cliché isnt it) and weaved in with martial arts. ATLA had a huge focus on that and the bending styles felt unique. In LoK they largely dropped the martial arts part but i guess the explanation stays the same. We have nonbenders who can beat benders 1on1 easily and Zaheer was an expert in martial arts AND followed the airnomad philosophy before he got airbending, so naturally he started at a high skill, but he wasnt the best, he got beat by Tenzin before P'Li helped him out. The flying thing got explained well enough imo, so i can accept him having that skill. It's a large part of his character and was set up since episode 5 or so. As for the earth queen, i agree somewhat, she really was a brat for no reason, especially with her father being a rather good guy, but she also is the reason for most of the events in season 3 and 4 so shes not just comic relief like jar-jar, so again, i can accept that. And how dare you call Toph a poor mans yoda, guess you havent watched ATLA

"discount Yoda" is more a general discreption for some old, wise in some way disabled person that trains the main character. Tosh was great and i am sure she was great in ATLA but i just generaly dislike that concept.
My problem with the earth queen is that her character is a "bad guy" kinda but is she? Yea she is a horrible person but from a dictator perspective there wasnt a thing that was against the law. Like the airbender army thing would be legal to some degree even in the real world. I found it also a bit irritating that Korra was kinda ok with it. She made this collect taxes thing and she is even ok with the monarchy dictator thing as she asked Wu in the last episode.
Maybe its just my personal taste of characters, i always prefer the cold hearted, serius one over the screaming around dictators.

I don't know why you're using spoilers but the season 3 question is he wasn't. He was legitimately, clearly worse than Tenzin at airbending but found a way to unlock a specific technique because he was super obsessed with Air Nomad culture and was aware of the legend. Said technique didn't make him more powerful or skilled, but it was certainly dangerous. It's like how Bolim suddenly isn't Toph level just because he can lavabend--it is a specific, powerful technique but not indicative of overall skill or knowledge.
The Earth Queen was hardly the main villain of Season 3. She was a sideplot to show the Red Lotuses' goals and to interfere with the Korra's new mission. I'll agree that Amon specifically was a more interesting concept than the Red Lotus but the Red Lotus were a lot cooler. Watching a real anti-team avatar was cool.
If you think the end fight was like Dragonball (one person using his superior evasion to avoid a much more powerful foe while poison eats away at her) then I don't know. Also, Dragonball's fights were great. I'm guessing you mean Dragonball Z, but even then you're out of your mind.
Bolin was with Kuvira because, at the outset, she wasn't entirely evil and he was focusing on all the good he specifically was doing with the disenfranchised people. He legitimately did help people in his journey with her and was oblivious, whether by want or ignorance, of the negatives. Kuvira was shown to get progressively more and more sinister in her methods and ambitions (from uniting the wayward Earth states to invading Republic territory to annex it into her new kingdom) and Bolin eventually became wise to it and defected.
This show has a lot of problems and you're not wrong to criticize it, but I'm not following some of these conclusions. A lot of them were explicitly shown and answered in the context of the show.

I think you've got the right idea. A brief mention of the ending helps, while keeping the focus mostly where you have it is cool. I have to say, your AMV made me realize how awesome the moments after the last battle were - though I likely would have come back to realizing that on my own, when I eventually rewatch the whole show some time soon
As for negative comments, don't sweat haters. AMV's aren't for everyone. Cheers!
Just FYI, season 4 (last season) just came out on DVD/Blu Ray. This is a great show (along with ATLA as its predecessor) and I think more people should check it out. Cheers!

Tbh i could relate with Kuvira a lot more often than with Amon in the end. + Show Spoiler +
There is no rational explanation for anything Amon did, the final statement is that Amon does stuff because he's insane and somehow wants to fulfill the wish of his oppressive father whom he himself killed. Which made the equalists' fight for political codetermination worthless. The victim aspect was imo understandable for Amon's brother, but Amon was supposed to be the strong rebellious one.
Kuvira wanted power, but as a matter of fact she brought stability to the country and even had that as an original goal. + Show Spoiler +
She goes mad with it but later even recognizes her mistakes when they are shown to her.
The reason you liked season one is the same reason i disliked season two, Unalag is terrible from start to finish. + Show Spoiler +
First they introduce him as an expert for things nobody else understands and warns of the dire consequences that might happen. He's kinda the ancient age climate scientist. Until it shows that he did all that in order to free the spirit of total evil in order to fuse with it so he can become all-powerful. Yeah...
Also the civil war is rather unbelievable in the way it is portrayed and the endfight was godzilla (Unalag's beam even has a similar sound) vs mothdra. The only thing i really liked in season 2 was the flashback.
Louis XVI and his wife were more like Jar Jar Binks than real dictators as well. That's the reason why monarchies are mostly extinct in the west. At some point somebody inherits the throne who is an idiot, no matter how much education and preparation he/she has. If she was a hardcore dictator who was just hated by everyone and oppressed everyone Zahir would have looked like the good guy and the series would have justified murder. Instead Zahir remains a grey character.
Also the endfights in general in the series arent that great. The only likable one was imho the last one if you disregard the giant robot (I know that's a lot to ask for). The first one is a chain of plot induced stupidity and finished with an asspull, the second's two are terrible, the third plays out logically but the preface is illogical and the fight itself rather dull. The last one had some even ground battles and was pretty cool for the most part, although that save was a bit forced and most of it was in a giant robot.
One thing wrong you said Feather, Amon did not kill his father. What made you think that?
I actually also disliked how Kuvira all of a sudden was regretful of her actions. I really think they should have killed her or at least forcibly arrested, not "Well I see how i'm wrong" yeah I don't believe that but I know it's a kid show so I can understand I guess.
Korra killing Kuvira would have been icing on the cake for me. It would also, ironically, be the exact opposite of how Aang handled his Final Boss in Ozai.
Sooooooo I am super late to the party, never thought I would be interested in cartoon since I am more of an anime guy. Just finished the series a while ago, pretty damn good.
The bending battles are seriously fun to watch, each battle is different and intense to watch. The spirits are really well designed and the artwork for the first avatar story was incredible. Love the music also
The characters are likable, and it was really good to watch how Korra grow out of her immaturity and the series did not really have an answer for "does the world need avatar anymore"? Especially when the anti-heroes are all pretty likable in a way. It does feel like the world no longer needs avatar and benders to determine the rest of the people but Korra shows time and time again how she still has to restore balance because the world isn't quite there yet. At the beginning I was worried it would just be some "the hero saves a day" type of story.
The only thing I didn't like so much is the romance, and the team avatar didn't feel like a team all that much. But I didn't mind it too much since it is more realistic that good friends don't do everything together and that they stay together when needed. I wish the series was tiny bit longer though, I felt some part were a little bit rushed.
Woooot? A new comic with Korrasami focus? I know someone who will love that. :D I'm going to read it as well I think. But please, finish the fourth avatar book first.
Also glad you enjoyed the show ETisME. Style-wise it's not that different from anime imho.
Very excited because they were the two best characters of the main team and I like solo adventures. One of the main problems with that Avatar comics is they feel the need to get the band back together every time, rather than just have solo stories about the heroes.
Biggest problem with the Avatar comics is that they're disjointed stories past a conclusion that didn't need any continuation. Story about Azula and Zuko's mother was nice just to fill in the blatant thread that they left hanging, but the rest are just shameless padding.
Korra is a much more disjointed series in general, so random stories afterwards aren't that different, but I have a feeling most are just going to pointless padding as well.

Yup and I really like the character development of korra. nice to see it maturing up in a slower pacing. Loved the book 4 because of that.
I am trying to go back and watch the TLA but it is hard to watch, a little too childish/ dull, I think it's because I am still at book 1. Will it get better?

TLA is way more childish than LoK. It also has tons of fillers in the middle of each book which makes it seem like a drag. It has streaks where it is pretty good though. It also gets better when Toph arrives. She and Sokka are the best. And General Iroh ofc.

Book 1 isn't very good, save for a couple of episodes. The Storm, the episode with Jet, the Blue Spirit episode, and the finale are all that's really important to the story. The rest are filler.
