The latest trailer that was just released during WonderCon weekend has a scene of a Xenopmorph, but we don't know what state it is in
Self admitted, I have never seen any film of the Alien franchise. Just by judging on the released trailer and the mythological lore for Prometheus, I must that I am very much intrigued in the premise. The direction seems to have top notch quality with the support of Mr. Scott on the team.

took the words out of my mouth (fingers?) I've only ever seen AvP, and was entertained but... This looks like the real shit!

Its possible that I am completly off track here, but just think I can remember it.
Yeah, he was a Greek Titan that was known for his intelligence. He stole fire from Zeus and gave it to human to start their development. He was then punished for eternity by being tied to a rock and having a bird eat his gut every day.

You got to amend that. AvP was just your standard action flick. Alien and Aliens were above and beyond better.
Am I the only one one thought Alien 3 wasn't bad and a little underrated? Don't get me wrong, it wasn't as good as the first two, but it still had a very gloomy and desolate mood to it.

He was suppose to be a generous god that sparked the beginning of technology for the mankind with the gift of fire. You can also look at this through the lens of another angle that that is when humanity begin its journey of destruction by speeding up the production process. I think this is where the mystique lies for the film naming. In a sense, the discovery of this new species through Prometheus is also leading to our specie`s extinction .

kinda makes sense since ripley's dna was used to create that alien hybrid?
no, in that movie ripley was spliced with the queen inside her from the 3rd movie because they cloned her incorrectly, thus leading to the somewhat human alien queen (human ovary, although it doesn't make much sense because she had an oviposter earlier to make all of the warriors..)

Each one of them is different. The first one being the best (and if you haven't seen any of them before, I'd stick with just this one, to leave the Scott feel unaltered). Second one was just an action flick really, Cameron did a good job but it lost most of it's scary/tension factor by turning it into TvZ. Third one was OK, Fincher kinda went back to the original premise with people being locked up in a remote place with a single alien organism. Fourth one I don't even want to talk about... Half-human half-xenomorphs and even more actiony than Cameron's vision...
So far my order of Alien movie quality is as follows: 1>3>2>4
Again, if you haven't seen them before, watch just the DC version of the first one, which should be enough to keep you in the loop. Especially that Prometheus takes us to the same place where Alien happened. Most likely they're even going to reuse some of the old sets.

i also thought it was underrated. Though not on the level of the first 2 alien movies
Prometheus definitely looks like it's gona be a shit movie imo.
