This film looks really great. Unfortunately, I've never watched an Aliens film (I was born in '95 and I haven't really gotten to these films yet). I'm not a huge horror movie fan, would you still recommend watching them?
Oh man, what a question. Those are classics, at least first two parts. But for me, 3rd is as well Was thinking yesterday about watching Alien3, felt I needed some dark dramatism and actors there are very good.
Watch all 4 of them: Alien, Aliens (director's cut), Alien3 (theatrical is less revealing and feels mildy different), Alien: Resurrection (director's cut preferably). But watch in proper order, they all continue each other and the directors are different so the feel and attitude towards each movies' exposition is completely different. My take is: 1 - horror; 2 - action; 3 - drama; 4 - french sci-fi.
My MOM showed me the Predator when I was like 5 or 6. Grateful for that, we laugh about it still Basically - age or when you were born doesn't matter if the movie is of high quality and Alien movies definitely are!

I wouldn't really call them "horror" movies. The first one is a sci-fi classic with amazing uses of tension and witholding information from the viewer. The 2nd one is more action packed, while still being really tense. Can't really comment on the 3rd and 4th, as i've never seen those. But i'd definitely recommend the first two if you are into well made sci-fi. Both of them have also aged remarkably well!

I'd call the first one sci-fi/horror but that's just me. #2 is def sci-fi action. #3 is kinda sci-fi thriller #4 I'd go with sci-fi action again.
But that's purely arbitrary. Definitely some of the best sci-fi movies you can watch. I'd recommend them all.
