If you didn't know that, SC was intended to be set in WH40K universe at first but Blizzard didn't get the rights to do it (THQ did later with Dawn of War, EA and Random Games got it before with Space Hulk series and Chaos Gate). I do not neglect the role of Aliens but it kinda didn't work so well for me as 1 and 3. It's like two different series: 1+3 = ordinary people put into extraordinary situation. No beautiful people, no weapons, just their wits and will to survive against an alien organism whose only purpose is to survive. 2+4 = military and their experiments vs hordes of aliens. Both of those movies have beautiful people in it, lots of guns and lots of people/aliens dying. 2+4 kinda take away a bit of tension as so much stuff is dying there that you kind of don't feel the same way. In 1+3 each death is significant. Also, SCV vs Queen and this whole Newt drama is some of the worst possible things to happen in this kind of movie. Cameron obviously went for what he does best: special effects and explosions over everything else. If you need to put a little girl in order to up the stakes in your "horror" movie you've already failed. Overall, I believe that Aliens would work much better without Ripley and Newt alltogether. Aliens is so much more than that. We get much deeper in characters and their development than both Alien and Alien 3. Ripley get to shine even more than in Alien thanks to Newt + the final battle is truely epic. How can you not see that? Aliens has the whole package from start to finish. Dont get me wrong, I really like Alien as well as Alien 3 but your description of Aliens couldnt be further from the truth.

Prometheus is suppose to explore the origins of the human race. Scott has been teasing fans on whether or not a Xenomorph will appear. The latest trailer that was just released during WonderCon weekend has a scene of a Xenopmorph, but we don't know what state it is in ![]() ahem. ![]()

I love the visual richness of these trailers, hopefully movie, too. I just didn't like it for some reason, can't put a finger on it. Maybe my expectations are too high? I was in 2rd grade when Alien3 came out and it's the last good movie in the franchise for me. I am putting alot of hope in it, I suppose. Anyways. With such cast and the way they are shown in the trailers it's hard to imagine who's the protagonist. The thing which leaves me guessing is a good thing. Besides that, they still haven't shown the creature which is uber good. I hate to see everything in trailers.

Amusing. Director of: Blade Runner, Gladiator. Not the Alien though. That has to be a secret. As if they are trying to cut all ties with the franchise or leave general public clueless about the fact that this is a connected movie. Thanks to the trailers it's become totally obvious that when Ridley said, and when he keeps saying, that this movie only has a limited connection to Alien, he's bullshitting us hard. Maybe it's that there is a huge amount of pieces to the puzzle of just what the hell this movie is about given to us in the trailers but nowhere near enough to put even a corner of the picture together yet, nothing to do but wait for the movie to come out. That's what's frustrating me a little bit anyway.

+ Show Spoiler + Speaking to Total Film Magazine, the lovely Charlize Theron answered a few questions about Prometheus, the Alien prequel that's being marketed as not a prequel. Here's what Theron had to say: When we asked if her role in the Alien sorta-prequel would be comparable to Sigourney Weaver’s iconic Ripley: THERON: “No, I actually don’t play the heroine in it; that’s Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it.” [My character] is not a believer, she’s not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through. She’s working with the company that’s sponsoring this whole thing and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She’s more quiet thunder. On whether any xenomorphs burst out of unsuspecting chests in Prometheus: THERON: “Maybe! I mean if you’re a Ridley Scott fan and you love the genre, then you’re going to be happy. You’re going to be very, very happy.”

Could be wrong but you could pretty much figure out what's going to happen just by looking at the trailer. and offtopic + Show Spoiler + I know this is not the place but I saw some guy praising 2001 a space odyssey and I must say..that movie imo is the most overrated piece of shit sci fi movie of all time.It might look deep but it's as simple as movies get and no matter what you think the ending might mean..it was garbage.I have never ever been so disappointed by a classic in my life I don't think the trailer give away that much. Maybe the first half of the movie.
