this thread makes me laugh so hard. not that i think its wrong that people watch this show, and it's not that i dont believe it is a good show. it just seems so strange, but then again i really enjoyed powerpuff girls.
What.. I feel like everyone in this thread is trolling me. Can you guys honestly not find something better to watch than a poorly animated kids cartoon about ponies, aimed at little girls?
So much quality literature and movies out there I'm incredibly surprised this has such a large following. :S

Uh, meh, idk. I see it on pretty much all forums, mostly 4chan/escapist etc but tbh I don't see the big deal about it. Sure it's cute and all, and I like cute, but it's still a show about a bunch of unicorns who run around and do random stuff. I get my daily dose of moe from anime anyways.
Watched 3 first episodes and it was quite cute, but story was a bit to predictable in the wrong way sometimes and sometimes did it help the jokes worked because you expected what was about to happen.
I still think would enjoy K-On and a few other moe anime more but it was better then expected.

I used to be the biggest My Little Pony fan, even had a MLP t-shirt. I also had a huge gap where my two front milk teeth had been. This show is not that good at all, it's just... mediocre. I actually watched Avatar: The Last Airbender and loved it, and that was also a recommendation from /co/ so same deal but only difference is A:TLA was so goooooood.
Holy shit, this is nostalgic. [edit] Found an even more glorious version.
I tried watch the old series swe-dubbed and didn't really hold up, anymore.

Well i'm not probably the best person to rate a cartoon plot anyway because i hate simpsons/futurama drama parts (i want just jokes all the time). I don't see much diffirence between this and manga/anime. Well i guess it's hard for me to explain why i like grindcore, black metal, warhammer 40k or star wars episode III to someone who doesn't like them.
Depends on the manga/anime, but I agree. In any case, I love anime. That's a partial reason why I could just jump into the show and watch through the episodes like any other. If I could do it with Lucky Star, why not ponies? Can't wait for season 2.
Kind of the same for me, so it was quite easy to get used to this cartoon. The characters seem all too familiar in some ways.

Please point out a community that has been "ruined". Oh right, ponies are Satan, I forgot, silly me, please don't bother to provide evidence.
Look, we aren't asking you to love ponies or even respect us, but could you please not post if all you are going to ask is for the thread to be closed? If you think you have a legitimate concern PM a mod or something, but don't make several posts whining about how ponies are here to destroy team liquid.
As a long-time anime watcher this show is pretty easy to watch. I can't say it's anything amazing, but the innocent/cute vibe provides for a relaxing watch, if not too stimulating. I actually prefer it to some of the more vapid moe-based anime such as K-On, Strike Witches, etc. (I still love Sora no Woto's representation in this arena, though.) It's also vastly superior to some indisputably terrible anime such as Zero no Tsukaima, Kampfer, Shakugan no Shana, etc. As a relaxing, comedic by degrees, non-plot-centric, atmospheric show, I'd say it's in the same department as shows like SZS, Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch, Minami-ke, Nichijou, etc. though in terms of relative quality your mileage may vary.
I don't really follow the meme content much, though Ponycraft 2 called the show to my attention. I watched a few as a bored pursuit some weeks after and have been continuing at a relaxed pace appropriate to the show since. I've been playing MoO2: Very Difficult Choice, Panzer General 2, and Panzer Corps lately so it's a good unwind after the tension.

If the mods have any decency, they will leave this open for the discussion of the topic, and anything related to it that is posted outside of it will result in a warning/ban, just like it is done with every single other topic.
My problem is really just that bronies seem to want to tell everyone else how cool and funny and manly their favorite show is, much like Dr. Who fans. Would be nice if everyone could keep discussion and pictures from their shows to the appropriate discussion threads, like is happening here!
I don't like Ponies, but I'm not going to call you guys fags. The main problem I have with bronies is that many of them spread their ponies everywhere. Hopefully on TL the ponies can be kept in certain pony threads, just as they did on 4chan when the ponies were causing detriment.
People on 4chan watch this? I am not surprised. Aren't they the kind of people that are into child pornography? (Obviously I'm generalizing, but I wouldn't be surprised if those two demographics coincide.)

You're confusing /co/ and /b/. /co/ is clean.
Also there is Rule 34 of every medium in existence including this. This isn't any worse than other internet fandoms.
