1) Post in this thread the following numbers in this list. Easy, right? 2) Spitfire 3) 844 4) Rainbow Dash 5) Protoss 6) + Show Spoiler +
7) Copy paste ALL of the above information and PM it to ME. BioSC. Yes, double confirmation. Again, Twi OCD levels here. Make sure that when you PM me, the subject of the PM is the # of the qualifier you want to sign up for. (Example: if you want to sign up for this qualifier, the subject would be "NA Qualifier #2"
It's a pretty typical hater majority vs. pony super enthusiast minority.
As much as I love poni, and I do, I'm not sure if it was necessary to do this. In the rules for making stuff for valve, it states pretty clearly to not use copyrighted/trademarked stuff, which MLP is.
It's just causing unnecessary drama imo.
That being said, it does look pretty sweet, the guy obviously spent a decent amount of time on it. =D
Nothing about that pony is copyrighted or trademarked to Hasbro or any of its affiliates. It's not even a particuarly close call. It's absolutely an original work (there is no such thing as a copyright for a particular set of proportions or anything like that) and it uses absolutely nothing in its name, appearance or description that would violate a trademark (the only trademarked aspect is the DotA 2 logo).
I'm not familiar with how the Steam workshop works, but I assume this courier would be one of several possible options that an an individual player selects as opposed to an entire team. If that is the case, there is absolutely no legitimate reason why it should not receive fair consideration for making it into the game. I'm not sure whether Valve would gain or lose more by allowing ponies to invade their games, though. It would get a big influx of players but also generate a huge storm of bitching for a while from people who spend their time looking for ways to feel big, until it got accepted as just a very minor cosmetic addition to the game.
I feel it is worth defending because it's a pretty high-quality job, and it legitimately feels like it could fit in the game as a bit of a silly option for the courier--I dislike a lot of the super-serious stylistic aspects of DotA 2 (the game uses "pwned" for god's sake, it's not meant to be so serious), so it would be welcome.
lol so much hate against ponies. anyway 1 guy on this site was right right : "Here's my word on this: why. Why are you people trying so hard to spread your enjoyment over the internet. If you like a cartoon for little girls, keep it for yourself" true story... i mean i have nothing against those things, but its kinda annoying when we are attacked from every side with it.

Honestly I personally don't see all that much hate except from places where it is expected.
It is really rare that i'll bring up anything MLP related outside of the community itself though which might have something to do with it but alot of the negative comments I see are not directed so much at the show but rather people who talk about it or try to shove it in others faces all the time who are not interested.
My feeling overall is that within internet and gaming communities ponies and the bronies that follow 'em are fairly well recieved or accepted by now, but i'm not all that far reaching in my online adventures so I don't really follow popular opinion that closely
In the end its a T.V show and creative community not a religious or political leaning or anything like that. :p

I don't see anything wrong with representing yourself using something you really enjoy. That's not "forcing it on others".
It can, of course, be overdone to the point of losing your identity. Fanatics are always annoying. But that applies to any passion. (I mean, consider how obnoxious some stoners are - and I say that as someone who generally approves of weed...)

This is an interesting subject.
You say he's "right". Right about what? We are where we are only because we didn't "keep it to ourselves". What's in for us in the pretend-respect of an armchair critic on the Internet that could hope to make up for the attention earned so far? Nevermind the catch-22 in "I'd respect you if I didn't know about you". I'm not interested in hipster cred in some thread called "Your top-10 shows no one else knew about. Also, why is modern TV crap?".
We aren't children clinging to their blanket, thinking they can keep everything the same forever if they just try hard enough. Instead of reaching for the brakes, act like an adult and steer.
