It isn't that strong. It is built on a lot of happenstance appearance descriptions and giving an odd significance to the fact that he brought up Ned's execution. So he is small with brown eyes and the signs of being from a working background. The execution was a blasphemy to the faith, any high septon with the balls to stand up to the Lannisters would have brought that up against them.
One thing that must be said of the high sparrow, and works in its favor, is that he has to be well educated and clearly knows his art of war. He can't be a simple as he puts on.
It can also be reasonably assumed that Howland must be doing something.
It is a seductive idea because of how it ties things together for a Jon legitimacy/R+J reveal.
It has a hard time with the Reed's nature as strongly in the northern religious tradition camp. I'll hand it though, the high septon's actions have not been entirely in the faith's long term interest. Forgiving a million dragons in dept is a huge thing to sacrifice, and for a faith militant? The faith militant give him an army now, but it is a double edged sword that will hurt everyone in Andal dominated areas in the long run. It is a bit of a short sighted goal...or the goal of someone who doesn't have the long term interests of the faith of the seven in mind. (or maybe the high sparrow is 'merican. security through swords in every hand!)

(or maybe the high sparrow is 'merican. security through swords in every hand!) i must disagree, 1. the Faith had no means to force the crown to repay the debt, the crown is several millions in debt already 2. being able to have an army is huge. easily worth 1 mil gold the church already paid. they have by far the best recruitment methor, the most zeal in their army, and probably a higher level of discipline than any could except from peasants and hedge knights and whatnots, cuz they re drawn together by religion.
No king was fool enough to even consider giving back that right to the church, only Cersei is that dumb

More casting news, and more changes for the upcoming season: + Show Spoiler +Jaqen H’ghar will be back. Seems quite likely to me that he'll be the one to teach Arya how to be a kick-ass assassin instead of whatshisname. If so, I'm perfectly fine with the change.

Where the hell is Arianne? I do not like the idea of Doran's children being merged together. Cut one of the prime sand snakes instead if you have to. They sure have room for a lot of new casting after season 4. -Tywin -Shae -Oberyn -Locke -Grenn -Pyp -Alliser? -Sandor -Ygritte -Lysa -Jojen -Olenna (wow, a departure that didn't die. She and Gendry need a victory monument somewhere) Very possibly -Bronn (he goes on the monument too if so)
I would also ask where the hell are those glorified pirates, but they haven't announced anything in that area yet. The omission isn't as glaring as the omission of the most prominent character in a region that is otherwise looking somewhat flushed out.

I think Bronn will remain in the show, as iirc they have cast his new wife.

How would that make any sense? Jaqen H'Ghar is supposed to show up at Old Town when Sam leaves to the Citadel. How can they run both arcs at once?
Sure it hasn't been officially revealed that Jaqen H'Ghar is the Alchemist from AFFC but it's pretty damn obvious that it is.

He wont be, it s a small role which will they skip, or cast someone else

But the Kindly Man is an awesome character...!
I think it's a smart move on their part though. Jaqen is a fan-favourite, and a badass. The unsullied will like it, and it might turn out well. I can't imagine him as a teacher though. There was something eerie and awesome about a kindly looking old man teaching Arya how to be one of the most deadly person in the world.

It's two roles though, first the kindly man and then Pate/The Alchemist
We don't even know what the hell Jaqen H'Ghar is even doing in Oldtown or why he's infiltrating the citadel yet. It could actually be pretty damn important.

What more proof do you want???

seems to paint a good picture if all the theories are put together
laughing tree = L highly supports R+L=J along with howland's loyalty to the starks howland is anticipated to return and suspected for stark's vengeance. howland being a high septon seems to be the only door available for R+L=J to become relevant.

Except that's not the entire argument. It doesn't even take more than a minute of reading the post to know that what you're saying isn't true. So why say it?

Maybe he had a spare key, or it opened from the inside. Or when Danny left they just broke in to free him. Locking someone in a large room is a pretty inefficient way to kill them .

This actor isn't Jaqen H'ghar though, it's just a face. Jaqen changed face at the end of season 2. I don't think we really know how faces work in the cult, but probably someone else could use Jaqen's face to put Arya at ease, while Jaqen does his thing at Oldtown.
It's not really a theory, just a way it could make sense.

Looks like LSH will not be in the show at all:
http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/06/25/michelle-fairley-24-lady-stoneheart/
+ Show Spoiler +You couldn’t have missed the online furor over the lack of Lady Stoneheart in the Thrones finale. Were you surprised by that attention?
I actually haven’t seen any of that. I don’t look that stuff up. I avoid it like the plague. I was totally unaware.
There was a lot of online conversation. I heard third-hand that you were basically told that it’s not likely to ever happen. Is that accurate?
Yeah, the character’s dead. She’s dead.
Do you have a preference at all—do you think Catelyn’s arc should end where it ended, or would you be into the resurrection idea?
You respect the writers’ decision. I knew the arc, and that was it. They can’t stick to the books 100 percent. It’s impossible—they only have 10 hours per season. They have got to keep it dramatic and exciting, and extraneous stuff along the way gets lost in order to maintain the quality of brilliant show.
