Not only is it my favorite (as well as most hated) moment thus far in the series but from what I've gathered it's strongly implied to be the main event from ASoS that motivated the creators in adapting the series. So my expectations are quite high. Normally I'm more lenient on how closely the show follows the book, but this is one scene I have to nitpick the shit out of if they don't get it right. In fact, it's such a good scene, I really wish they just spread it out over the last 2 episodes rather compress it all into episode 9. If nothing else, they have to at least get the line: "No, don't, don't cut my hair, Ned loves my hair" in.

Expectations are way too high. Most disappointment will be about how it didnt make show watchers cry enough.

There is no way that quote is going to be in there due to the fact that, that line is one which catelyn is thinking rather than saying.

Most disappointment will be about how it didnt make show watchers cry enough. This is very likely. For all their intent on this being the key moment in the whole series which they were most excited to put on screen, they screwed it up with how they handled Robb. It can still give Ned's death some competition in any case though. I'll say this again: a key thing that can help salvage it is if they use the faux Arya death. People love Arya.

I don't think they're going to, as much as I'd like that. They can't delay UnCat's reveal like in the books, and so they'd basically have two faux deaths in a row in just one (or two) episodes. Which might annoy people, understandably.
