In the book Jeyne is part of a minor, Lannister(?)-aligned house which bends the knee, so it makes sense that she is spared. In the show, she's from across the Narrow Sea, so she has no real worth to anyone once she completes her mission.
If Talisa would be a spy and got herself pregnant from Robb, though, she would be pretty damn stupid, wouldn't she? Or will this be one of those cheesy last moment "I'm sorry I betrayed you I really fell in love with you I regret everything oh the humanity!" kind of plots? Well, just look what's happening with Shae. The fact that she's preggo is just more reason for her to die in the Red Wedding.
Wouldn't it be awesome if the TV deviated and Robb Stark managed to fight his way out of the RW? Like he sees Talisa about to die and he goes all "NOOOO, MY SOOOOON." And just goes on a rampage beheading all the Frey and Bolton men, carving a bloody furrow through their ranks and winning his way to freedom? But def leave Catelyn to die because she is a treacherous mom and way too leatherfaced to get any more screen time.
And then from there, it could be a whole new storyline where the Starks take over the north and ally with the whitewalkers to fight Daenerys and the Lannisters.

I read all the books before I found this thread, and I never went that far to google for speculations. So, obviously, I missed a ton of stuff. Now I know about all those theories, Jon's parentage, how Cersei dies, what might happen to Arya, who is gonna ride the dragons, Faegon, Jon being revived.. I'm quite sure most of those theories are true. So does that mean I'll know the plot of the coming books? That I won't be surprised any more? I'm honestly not sure, and I have no idea if I will enjoy the coming books more or less because of this. Edit: Also, am I the only one who's always totally paranoid about accidentally posting in the wrong thread?
Some of these will probally happen, like Jon's parents and him being revived, but others are really not that clear. There's plenty of controversy regarding other ones, like Faegon, the Dragons, etc., so reading to see if your own interpretation of the theory is correct can be fun. And there's always room for a plot twist, no matter how obvious a theory sounds. I really don't expect all of them will be true.
If you really dislike hearing about anything that might happen in the future books you probally should avoid any kind of discussion, but theorycrafting can be quite fun for a lot of people and doesn't detract from their enjoyment. It's just personal tastes.

Finished Dance with Dragons just minutes ago, damn that was good actually made my heart beat faster at times which isn't half bad for a book. I haven't looked up any theories but I have faith that Jon Snow isn't dead yet and Melisandre will play her tricks to keep him around. I hope Daenerys leaves Meereen soon, fuck that place.
And now I have to wait like everyone else... Off to read Malazan meanwhile, feels like a lot harder read so far.

The best deviation the show can take from the books would be to have Dany die while trying to sack Yunkai. Have Daario betray her or something, then die to Jorah/Barristan, who then go "well, fuck this place" and move back to Westeros.
|
I watched the preview of next episode, and it looks like they won't do Tyrions and Sansas wedding in the next episode. I got 2 options they will do in episode 9: They will do some nice scene swapping between the two weddings and arya, because I don't see them do first do the Tyrions wedding and then do the Red Wedding. or because that it almost undoable I even see Tyrions/Sansas wedding to Season 4.
Also, is there any hints what happened with that note that Robb wrote to make Jon heir of Winterfell, or is that not impactful for the greater story and more for Robb's character development.

Better deviation: + Show Spoiler +

why would that be stupid?
1) it's not like she has much choice over whether or not she gets pregnant 2) the baby would be the heir of winterfell, and completely under lannister control from birth

I think it would be a great episode if they did the two weddings in the same episode alternating scenes between them. Would be awesome

This would fix my main complaints with the series.

Oh you guys just made me realize, if Jeyne did NOT actually drink moon tea if she were to have a son he'd be the heir to Winterfell. It would be a backstab towards Lannisters, but it would be really interesting/sick. Don't know what allies could they find though; Boltons are locked in with Lannisters, so are Tyrells, Dorne have their own plans and Greyjoys are Greyjoys.

I will stand up and admit I hold a double standard on this issue.
If Robb were to survive the red wedding I'd write the TV series off entirely as an elaborate fan fiction spin-off.
If something like your picture happened I'd celebrate.

If GRRM is taken by the stranger before he finishes the last 2 books I vote we give them the monty python treatment. At least you know it'll be good albeit a bit different.

Can anyone give me some pointers on why Westeros is a wanted place, aside from the Lannister and Tyrell area it seems to be a shithole, Lannisters have thriving mining business and Tyrells have food&education. What sucks in Westeros are the whitewalkers, harsh winters, faith of the seven and weird politics.
Now then if i compare it to Essos we have 2 gods that actually make shit happen, wizardry, blooming economy (enough to give millyin billyin loans for the westerosi kings), less threatening winters, more room(even if there are shitty deserts and dumb barbarians roaming around), more cultures and free cities that arent at war with each anothers.

The free cities are almost always at war with eachother. It's how the free companies stay fed.
Aside from the occasional uprising, Westros has been a... Somewhat quiet place since the times of Aegon the Conqueror.

People want power and it's hard to control lands far away from where you live, especially with an ocean in the way.
