It will be
* Very corny. * Mediocre acting. * Over-blown visual effects and fight scenes. * Aimed towards people that like WWE * Shallow and predictable story. * Nothing like the original.
Just sayin.
I think your last prediction contradicts some of your other predictions!
Spot on.
It's not like you are ever going to re-watch the original for whatever reason. Some older movies (<1990) you can re-watch and still be awed by it's brilliance. Conan the Barbarian (1982) is defiantly not one of those.
I kinda disagree I like it and I rewatched it last year. (and I am not a person who rewatches movies)
I watch both Conans every year. I watch Predator like every 3 months. I can't imagine paying to watch some random guy try to be Arnold. Rose McGowan as Red Sonja though...that I'll be at opening night.

*Throws knife that goes right through the stomach of a random bad guy and impales him on the wall* - "Stick around!"
The movie may look bad, but the Conan actor is sure getting some spotlight. First he was a dreadlock warrior in Stargate: Atlantis, then the Targaryen Queen becomes his wife in Game of Thrones, and now he gets to beat up dark age evil doers. What a badass.

I've definitely caught one Conan movie or another on cable at least a dozen times and happily sat there and watched them. It may be a fine "Conan-ish" type of movie, I'm just hoping that they don't cameo Arnold in it, at least not without a sufficient degree of awesome.
Based on Conan canon I would have to say that the movie is going to be completely terrible, and that's why we're going to watch it. It should have at least one scantily clad woman, and will offer gratuitous violence. It will be popular, for the entire five minutes it deserves. (the pun was too strong to resist.)
Looks plain, simple and entertaining like an average action movie! Nothing wrong with that on occasions, but nothing special. The 3D effects is most likely a big hoax like with "Clash of the Titans" (coming from a disappointed 3D TV owner)
The corny acting and all is the only reason Conan was and will be good. With CGI and "epic" things it will just be boring for the likes of me who grew up with the old movie. Nothing compares to conan killing a vulture with his teeth and knocking out a camel with one punch while in a drunken haze :D To commemorate some of the greatest moments, i would like to present to you, this awesome musical in which i had not part whatsoever.

Oh my god... This has been single most brilliant thing ever!

... and part of Conan's original charm was its cheap/low budget feel. You almost had to use your imagination to fill in the gaps while watching it. This is just another overdone bullshit wannabe epic movie that wants to be the next LoTR. I'm so glad I don't watch movies or TV anymore... thanks for the reminder of why ^.^
I just listened to the trailer...to be honest I disagree. If you ever watched Stargate Atlantis you'd be familiar with him. I'm fairly certain that is close to his actual voice. I didn't see anything wrong with it personally.
I've actually been very excited with who they've gotten for Conan. I loved his character is Stargate. He was quite the glorified badass in that as well.
I'm actually thinking this will be just as cheesy as the old movie. In the same way? No. But it will still be a great Conan movie. Not the Conan movie we deserve, but the Conan movie we all need right now (lol). Because with how crappy the world has been lately, I'm looking forward to an action movie with some senseless violence. So here's hoping to a rated "R" movie!
The guy acting Conan is way too small to make me believe that is Conan. He was a huge fucking barbarian guy, this is some puny whimp. Cba watching.
edit: Ok, watched the trailer. Even worse than i thought. This is just some random peasant from some backwater village with a small fucking sword. el o el
