In any case...lol this chapter is just O_o; I don't even know what to say. Everytime I think I have SOME idea of where the manga is heading it just flies off into another dimension or something. Blegh. | ||

I think Togashi is doing something similar with HxH, but on a grander scale. He's created a wide array of unique and interesting characters, each with his own motivations. (Have you ever seen a character like Hisoka, or Chairman Netero, or even the Ant King in another shounen?) Rather than create a standard "overarching plot element", Togashi allows the characters to be driven by their individual goals and personalities, and simply throws them into different situations. After that, whatever happens happens. If Gon runs into Ging in a crowded assembly hall, then he'll do what he does, and Ging will do what Ging will do, whether it's anti-climactic or not. It's an interesting formula, and it explains why we're so excited to see what would happen if Hisoka clashed with Ging, or Pariston met Illumi, or Netero ran into the Spiders, etc. When you mix in the fact that Gon, Killua, and (apparently) Leorio are getting stronger, and are accomplishing their goals + making new ones, the future seems bright. HxH is definitely an experiment, and it's had some rough points at times. But I, for one, would be surprised to see Togashi abandon what he's started in favor of a more traditional shounen plot. | ||

Like, you can tell by his fight with the King that he is leagues above other high tier hunters. Or, as a more concrete evidence, when you have Zeno Zoldyck testifying that Netero was completely out of his league, you KNOW that mofo is much stronger than pretty much anyone. I highly doubt that whatever combat strength Pariston will be particularly relevant if the old geezer wanted to beat his ass down. That is not to say that Pariston isn't strong, but he definitely doesn't need to be one of the strongest to fit his current role | ||

The whole chapter 264 was Zeno talking about Netero's strength and at one point, he mentioned that he and Netero are not equals at all. Of course, none of that is as convincing of an argument as Netero's demonstrated skill itself. Pitou, a royal guard, could barely react to Netero using his attack and still got tossed away like nothing (though to Pitou's credit, he took almost no damage but the ants have hax defense rating). A human could never touch Netero or even activate their ability fast enough before they get slammed. | ||

Both are one of the best mangas i ever read (and i read a lot of manga except all those stupid lolicon and/or all those underaged girls surrouding main character manga) I liked Onepiece a lot and all those early chapters were so good, my favourite moment was when Mihawk fights Zoro, it was so intimidating and there were a lot of emotions going on but after that the manga keeps getting worse (but still very good) IMO, HxH is a better manga overall, i like HxH Characters facial expressions so much just look at them and u just know/feel exactly how they feel. About characters getting better and beat the crap out of bad guys etc. i mean what else can you do ? isnt that what u readers want/like ? just read the damn manga.... be grateful and thankful that u get a chance to do so, damn it. | ||
