| Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

I don´t understand the hate, I thought it was a decent-to-good first episode.
The kid was irritating, every moment he was on screen, and cutting open the zombie was grose, but the episode overall was tense, and the herd sneaking up on them worked fine IMO. Remember that they saw the zombies through his sniper scope early, but without a way to alert everyone without making sounds they just hid, hoping that the others would see the zombies before the zombies saw them. The zombies might have usually smelled them, but these were not alert zombies, and until they made too much sound, hiding works. Believable, tense, I liked it.

The talk about opting out and the gun was great, it´s not like they have much to look forward to and despair is an important part of the setting, of course some will loose hope, and I´ve rarely seen it put into words better, usually in zombie movies they just get very quiet and depressed, go crazy and get eaten, or else go killer-crazy. Good stuff.

Even Hector Salamanca is acting better without actually talking.

For a show about zombies it's really fricking boring. They fired all the writers but couldn't come up with a better result. If this makes it to a third season, I'll be surprised

So I've forgotten a lot of the comic by now, but the show pretty much has nothing to do with the comic book anymore, right? Pretty much nothing that happened in the first episode of this season happened in the book, as far as I can recall.

Carl getting shot is in line with stuff that happens in the comics. As is arming themselves with melee weapons (though in the comics they're smart enough to do that themselves RIGHT AWAY).

Here I'm hoping this will lead to the farm arc which will then lead to the the prison arc.
I would have liked a different story from the comics that was actually GOOD, but the writers just can't seem to do it, so I hope they'll start to follow the comic.

The preview for season 2 shows Carl being taken to the farm, so I think that's where it's headed. I don't know when/how they are going to work Tyrese into the series though and I'm not sure how the prison will work if they're too afraid to deal with children (which the absence of Billy/Ben and Carl's lack of shooting Shane hint at)

Would it be cynical of me to guess that this is going to be awesome, and then cut after the first season?

This show is amazing. I just started to watch it yesterday starting from season 1 and I am up to date! Me and my girlfriend fell in love with the show. They always leave you at the end of every episode wanting more.

What this guy said, me and the missus love it!

Dont see what the complaints are about - the acting isnt that bad tbh.

Various things have happened since we started watching though.

I had a dream (not nightmare) that i was with my fiance in my former high school being chased by a herd of zombies ^_^ then proceeded to light a stick of dynamite and blow the pair of us up while holding her close. Odd dream :D

She has regular nightmares but refuses to stop watching lol. Also claims she saw her hand as a zombies... :S

Although we quite happily walked through a pitch black park with no worries except of where to stop to "ahem"...

				New episode soon!
Regardless of what the critics say, I think this show is a refreshingly 'realistic' take on what a group of survivors would do in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.

Season 2 episode 1 was fine. I thought the kid getting shot at the end was a bit unnecessary... now we have two cliffhangers, (1) where's Sophie and (2) what's going to happen to the kid? and who shot him?

I hope that kid fucking dies. My god, so much emphasis on a shit character. I hope a tank from L4D shows up and obliterates the the section of the house the child is in.

Would someone mind explaining to me how the doctor knows exactly how many bullet fragments are lodged in this kid?

Thought this episode was much better than season premiere
They still drag out shallow storylines way to long though.

Much better episode. This is more along the lines of the Walking Dead I liked.
