Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

But an overall alight episode. Noah needs to die already and Eugene needs to start his major story lines. She's quite obviously faking it in order to fit in. I mean, in her interview she tried to say she just latched onto the group and they take care of her, when in fact she's saved them all and is consistently doing things others can't to survive.
I think so, too. She was clearly faking it. Just look how she talked about her husband, like she dearly loves and misses him.
She's by far my favourite character. The only one that has had any real development, perhaps the truest badass in the show.
My prediction:
The group is starting to fit in, making real progress towards being accepted into the community. Meanwhile, Darryl gets ostracised and even members of the have lapses in their loyalty to them. Then he saves the day when Gay #1 shows his true colours (nobody is THAT nice), making the group remember their loyalty.

The only one that has had any real development, perhaps the truest badass in the show. I used to hate Carol, I think most people did, or maybe not I don't know. Either way, she became badass as hell, and she certainly is showing it now. She's clearly testing the waters and she's doing great. I think it's probably better than Rick's constant PTSD battle mode. (And I wonder why you'd get a guy like that to be a constable...)
I think what's great is at this point Carol is the only character who's not fundamentally broken. Perhaps with Glenn, who's still kind of sane. And that one other girl who was with Abe, but we she's kind of just following along doing nothing. I mean I understand that it's a character drama type show and whatnot, but I'm starting to get annoyed with people breaking down and becoming erratic and uncontrollable.
Now don't get me wrong I understand that people will flip out when their loved one dies and they'll be scarred but holy hell. When Sasha lost her shit at the bridge all I could think was I GET IT, ENOUGH OF THAT.

With Rick stating point blank that they're not going to fit in and become weak like the rest. The scene with Glen was clearly set up to show how weak the Alexandrians truly are: he very very easily took out their top "military". No way is even Michonne going to let her guard down that easily, and she is the one they have portrayed as being most desperate to let her guard down.
In fact, that last point is my main criticism of the latest character development: I really do not understand why they killed off Tyrese when this role of desperately wanting to return to normality was 100% up his alley. I honestly don't think this meakness fits Michonne at all. This is, after all, the badass samurai who ripped zombies jaws out and used them as pack mules.

They killed him off because Chad Coleman is going to be a lead on a new show instead of one of 43 co-leads.

I was expecting something more than just a wry face from Rick after he found out that someone took his hidden weapon.

Well her zombie mules were not just random zombies. They were her boyfriend/friend. So her mutilating and keeping them was kind of like the governor keeping his daughter but more practical.

+ Show Spoiler +So it's literally 1 middle aged housewife, who albeit doesn't look that fit and probably couldn't defend off Carl, protecting the entire town's stash of weapons.
That doesn't seem very smart at all even in the slightest...
Incase people don't wanna watch the video and get spoiled.

Also, the priest has mysteriously disappeared. Last episode he had like 10 seconds of non-speaking screentime. Now he didn't even get that. Even when they had the group shot in the house I didn't see him there.
The actor in real life tried to commit suicide, so it stands to reason he'll be taking a break for a few episodes.

Where did you hear that?

haven't seen any news to that effect, and google produces no results either. I suspect it's just a random rumor

:/ ... Well. Not sure if it's better or worse that it wasn't just spreading a completely baseless rumor?

I really, really want these guys to get settled in. They deserve it after so much time. They'll shower, straighten their clothes, eat balanced meals and maybe even fall in love? I want them to live in paradise. Then I want bandits to come in and fuck it all up. I want someone to blow the fucking walls down and massacre all the people in this community. It will be glorious.

^ I found George RR Martin's TL account

Not to mention that actor was last seen in the first half of Season 3.

Canoe down the Potomoc a bit to Indian Head on the MD side... just before you get to Quantico on the VA side.
Indian Head is where the US Navy keeps a whole lot of stuff that goes boom.
That is where I would scavenge.

I would very much like this show to take a turn now - World War Z style (I mean the book, not the movie). Enough with the survival stuff, we've been over that and it's just going to get repetitive from here. Have the group stabilize, get a community going, take in more people, then start to fight back. Start taking territory, build outposts, build weapons, organized clearing of undead. Fit pieces together, how did it all start? Zoom out a bit and get some perspective on the current world. That would be really interesting.
|
They don't have a budget for that kind of action
|
Yes, rebuilding a civilization would be interesting. I wonder which laws and government they would set up for their new society. They'd have to build very long walls to claim land and keep it safe, have people responsible for farming, crafting weapons, scouting, law enforcement, engineering, doctors etc. They'd have to fall back to the medieval technology wise, because raiding the surrounding area for ammunition, batteries, clothes, gasoline and medical supplies doesn't work forever and you can't make all that stuff yourself.
